Been chipping away at heaps of little things over the past few weeks. Pulled the Coilovers and lca out of the race car, cleaned up the Coilovers, new bush and ball joint for lca and got them in. Needed to make a small bracket to hold the brake lines.

Also fitted and wired up a new oil pressure/temp sensor and sorted fuel pressure with the old oil pressure sensor now reading it. Got a cheap Android double din wired up and have the link data showing on real dash app.

Cleaned up the te37 wheels and got them fitted with new wheel nuts. Then got it out for some quick pics.

Now all that's left is exhaust, new engine oil and filter, wheel alignment, washer reservoir and tune. Waiting on hoist to start exhaust so practicing stainless tig welding which has been harder than I thought it would be but found some good YouTube videos which have sorted out a few of my problems 😅

Use a proper gas lens with a large cup >10 and you'll be surprised at how much better again you'll get it.

Or if you feel like giving the credit card a run use the furick welding cups, even better again

Made a start on the exhaust today, started with a basic bracket for the cat, then cut up some bends and got it up nice and high with a magnaflow straight through then into the old twin tip muffler. Will add a vband at the diff, 2 new hangers and then weld it out.

Got a busy few weeks so won't be able to get much done but plan to get wheel alignment, tune and then have it fully detailed ready for sale around April.

Got the exhaust all done and it turned out ok. Got it up nice and high with plenty of clearance, painted it all black except for the mufflers and made up a tailshaft loop as MA regs requires one. Started with an aeroflow loop kit and modified it to suit.

Then sent the car off to the detailer and had it cleaned properly, got the interior wet cleaned also got the windows tinted.

Next cleaned up a cusco strut brace I've had sitting around by powder coating the brackets black and polished the bar. Need some new bolts before fitting it.

Have now got a date to finish the car off as I've entered rockynats at Easter in the street drags, Dyno and cruise so now sorting out little things before rego and tune in a few weeks. Spent tonight fitting front wheel speed sensor and making a template for ducting to the oil cooler.

IMG_20210301_161219.thumb.jpg.fd98a6a6527139ec98e0df5f1b6c2e44.jpgIMG_20210301_191132.thumb.jpg.1e040853d9cb95815c01f2336cb6c56d.jpg

Tomorrow nights plan is to do a service with new oil, filter, coolant and plugs as it's been a long time since I did it. Biggest job I'm hoping to have sorted by rockynats is working aircon, I've got all the lines but going to put some heat sleeve over them and do o rings will be nice to have for cruising.

Dry sump and Samsonas would have prevented that failure 😜

First proper service in almost 4 years, going to be using this Penn grade oil as a local parts shop is now sponsoring the race car for the year with free oils and filters for the cars.

Slowly been chipping away at little bits everyday at the moment. Flushed cooling system again as all gunk had turned coolant brown after a few heat cycles, refilled with Demineralised water and penrite red coolant but looks like it needs one more decent flush which I'll do after Dyno tune on the 16th.

Finally got the ethrottle 100% sorted with some help from Link, I didn't realise idle control table was an adder for ethrottle map so now cold/hot starts and idle is perfect.

Spent this afternoon sorting lines for the air conditioning. Gave them a quick clean. Required some light bending to use a mix of r33 and s13. Will replace the drier and o-rings before gassing it. Need to look at the climate control unit as stuck on heat and floor vents which is annoying.

Future Classics we are hodling now, diamond hands baby.

I won't be holding onto this much longer hopefully it's going up for sale at rockynats. The 370 does everything this can do so much better I think.

    • Have a vb in honour of the car comming back
    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.
