Hello, sory for my bad english, but i need your help,
I am in work to remaking the engine of my r34 gtr, and I have a problem with the bearings
first question, the best bearings is nismo or other brand?
I have seen that there are many colors that coincide with the measurements, but unfortunately I have opened the engine and not on all the bearings you can still see the color,
how do I know which ones I have to mount where I no longer see the colors?
these are the measures I have taken
main bearing color:
1 green 2 ??? 3 ??? 4 ??? 5 maybe gold 6 green 7 green
main bearing dimension:
1 54.96 / 2 54.96 / 3 54.96 / 4 54.95 / 5 54.96 / 6 54.97 / 7 54.96
connecting rod bushings color:
1 ??? 2??? 3 ??? 4green 5green 6green
connecting rod dimenison:
1 47.96 / 2 47.95 / 3 47.97 / 4 47.97 / 5 47.97 / 6 47.97
how do I calculate which ones to order now?
thanks a lot to everyone for the help
i hope to finish soon my car and going in all europe whit my Sky  image.gif.c58bd52e8898da19a0dec6c0b564eb13.gif

Yeah the markings refer to the grades when it left factory. Best to accurately linish the crank for oversize bearings and just buy them at the right clearance. Most common option in Aus is ACL bearings but if you can get factory ones where you are that is an option. No bearing should be meaningfully "better", just get the clearances right

OP I believe RHDJapan has info on the Nismo color-coded bearings...however they are extremely expensive/overpriced. Even oem Nissan bearings per color size are very expensive, when compared to just a set of "Standard 0 size" .

The Nissan workshop manual refers to bearing colors but I only have the r33 manual, not sure where you'd find one for the r34's rb26 specs.

You will note though the tolerance for the different sized bearings is extremely tight...which is good, but I just used a set of Standard-0 rod and mains bearings in previous builds/freshen-ups when no machining work was done, and clearances have been fine.

yes, but i need to order now the correct, i have take the measure

Try to download an engine workshop manual - it gives all the specifications for rebuilding.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
