What's this plug called?

Hi my r33 been running like shit lately and noticed this broken plug.. what's it for?

The red one is the vct solenoid, the grey and black ones are coolant temperature sensors.

there's 2 plugs in that pic, and neither are broken.

Yeah, quality work from the OP in identifying what was actually broken. But on close inspection it looks like someone has dropped something on the VCT solenoid's socket and chipped off a large piece.

Didn't want to squint or waste any more time wondering.

I've discovered that bouncing off the limiter in neutral for exactly 36.4 seconds clears all running problems quickly and effectively every time guaranteed.

Hahaha sorry guys I'm pissed as forgot to circle it yeh the red ones madly chipped and coesnt even sit in properly just pops out

Is the vct solenoid important? Will it be one of the problems making the car run like shit

Not critical, likely not the problem.  Unplug and go for a drive, it won’t hurt anything

VCT gives you extra whoosh in the midrange by adjusting the cam. It can't make your run poorly but it is worth sorting out a fix so it gives you the available whoosh.
