Hi guys, is the top layer of the front headlight a replaceable part or do I need to order the entire headlight? Mine's starting to show its age (turning yellow, scratches etc.) so was hoping to replace just that part or get something that blends in with the car a bit better. If possible, what's the part number that I need to order / from where?

Thanks

Very common

Get a professional headlight lense restoration (one who takes the headlight apart and does the lenses on both sides, I've had this done. Was $180) if you're In Brisbane QLD "dans custom car lights" done mine.

Unfortunately the lenses can’t be replaced. You need the whole headlight assembly. Morimoto have made replacement lenses for the 370z & could make the same for the V36 but there is no guarantee.

The yellowing can be cleaned up but mine has like spiderweb cracking in the lense which cannot be fixed, only replaced 😔

That's pretty easy to clear up. As said already, get a headlight restoration kit or get a pro to do it for you (pretty easy to find on Facebook).

I found the Philips kit pretty good. You'll also notice improved headlight output as your lenses are clear/transparent.

You'll find lots from the the US on ebay but they are for left hand drive cars and the headlights will blind on coming cars. So avoid them.

Check some of the wreckers in your area

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
