2530 here. Making around the 200rwkw mark @ 1 bar.

Mods in my sig.

My brother put a T04 on his 32 and is running a powerfc. Over 300rwhp. But when i drove it i noticed that 1st doesn't really boost at all and 2nd isn't much better. 3rd gear hang on lol.

Scott

I'm lookin to update my turbo .. but i'm in two minds ..actually 3 minds on which one to select..

Help me out.

(sorry for hijacking thread a little)

HKS 2530

or

Garrett GT28R

or

Garrett GT RS (GT28RS) i think

i'm lookin to run 1.2bar ..and produce around 240rwkw

Are these capable of this? with injectors, ecu, fuel pump, cooler and cams?

thanks

Matt

mm2death- how hard does your r32 pull, what is your redline and when does boost come on? thanks in advance.

Yeah goes great. I've made a few people shit themselves...lol. But like with everything, you get used to it and then after no time at all you wanna go faster :D

Redline is about 8...not totally sure as i always shift at 7 the most. Boost hits fully at around 3500.

Cheers,

Scott

Hmmm, this thread is interesting

I have always thought my turbo was a HKS GT2510. Due to the CHRA tag being un-helpful (no numbers that meant much) I have always taken the sellers (JMS) and the installers ( Tilbrooks ) word for it. Also has a HKS 1bar acuator (although it only gets it to 0.9bar :) ) and also has a cast HKS dump pipe

It bolts on, and is definatley a HKS 25 series from the housings etc, but looking a MM2deaths post, how you say full boost is at 3500rpm, I am now thinking differant

Mine makes 200rwkw at 0.9 bar, and full boost is from about 4500-4800rpm and pulls really well from there to the rev limit at 8200 rpm (re-mapped chip)

Any idea's? I am now thinking 2530 or 2535 perhaps?

Chris

from what i know the gt rs is an update of the 2540, similar and made  more responsive providing an extra 30 odd hp than the 2540 also.

i thought it was more closely related to the 2835 turbos. power between 2835 and 2835R, with slightly better response.

Hi guys, for what it’s worth, our RB20DET has a GCG ball bearing hi flow of the RB25DET standard turbo, makes 1 bar at 3,100 rpm, some boost at ~2,500 rpm (depending on load), has GTR cams, adj camshaft pulleys, std R33 GTR intercooler, split dump, no cat, 3.25” exhaust, Power FC with boost control kit, well tuned (not by me), 225rwkw at 6,900 rpm using 1.3 bar, power flattens over that but doesn’t drop off dramatically, revs to 8,250 rpm easily (needs shift light, badly).

The result is the sum of the parts, not just one single part. That means you won’t get a similar result (whether it is good or bad) just by choosing a turbo.

Hope that helps

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
