Apologies, but not willing to hunt through 21 pages of "Stagea Parts List".

I have a RB25DET from a (early, 1996?) C34 in my R32 GTS4, and I need a new Rocker Gasket Kit, including the washers. On the assumption that all 25s are the same, I got a Protorque GVC6100 kit, but it has the wrong style washers, and the gasket appears to be a bee's-dick short. Most kits don't clearly show the washers, so I don't know if they will work. I've found a Durapro GSRC3025K, but again not confident it has the correct washers (washers need to be basically flat, not the type that insert into the rocker).

I contacted my local Nissan dealer, asking if they could get the correct kit if I gave them the engine number. The can only search on a VIN.

There are kits on eBay, but they claim to fit 180SXs as well as Stageas / R33s / etc, so I'm dubious that they are the correct kit.

Anyone done this before? Maybe give me your VIN so I can quote it to the dealer.

Any help / guidance appreciated.

Being a 96 it would be a non neo rb25, so any non neo rb25 gasket should fit. If I was you, I'd be calling the likes of kudos motorsport , EFI solutions to ensure you're getting the right part and ordering a genuine Nissan gasket kit. Will be a lot cheaper than Nissan spare parts as well.

As  I said in OP, the grommets (washers) are different. I need the plain flat type that acts like a washer - the kit I originally got has the type that insert into the retaining bolt hole.

I'll give kudos a call Monday, see what they can do.

This is NOT the type I need:

That is the correct type on my stagea's rb25; they pull down about 50% in height as you tighten them, and the bonded metal part is the washer (ie, your pic is upside down)

Per this post, those are the ones I used on mine

This is how they sit, don't overtighten them

(upside down because that's how they were pictured!)

Aha! So it IS the type I need!

Actually found replacement bolts that come with a flat rubber washer from EFI Solutions (https://www.efisolutions.com.au/billet-rocker-cover-washer-retainer-kit-rb20-rb25 ) - might fancy-up the rocker covers with a set.

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
