I'm willing to lose weight to race :) however I fail to comply for HSV day :D

Winton looks like a goer. Anyone going to Winton? and do you need an extinguisher?

I might be in for the fun day @ Winton on Sunday... there's no pre-registration, I think u just show up and pay on the morning. You dont need a fire extinguisher, just a roadworthy vehicle, and a helmet.

where do i start

heater core

oil leak from oil cooler sandwich plate fittings

water leak from somewhere not even sure where

etc...

i have the whole dash apart and out atm with the heater core out, waiting for a new one to come in on Monday, then i have to see if i remember how to put it back together...

Are you having issues with the sandwich plate too ferni? So am I. Did you wanna PM me you number so I can have a chat to you about it? Cheers.

Apparently there is a design flaw with the sandwich plate on the early group buy oil cooler kits from Meridian.. the newer ones have been corrected. But because of the way the Nissan oil filters fit, the sandwich plate inner ring lip has to be ground back about 2mm. Contact Toby @ Meridian about it if you got your kit from there..

hmmm, the Winton fun day sounds good (and more importantly CHEAP)

any takers?

Nah

from the sounds of it it was just punters and a few wankers in GTR's :D

I'll get owned by some, but I reckon there will be plenty of HSV and FPV scalps to take, and maybe we'll exchange a bit of respect.

Ahhhh fu(kers! I knew I didn't do anything wrong. And I fu(ken paid Ice to look at it too.....

Adz, I told you to ring Toby and get it sorted. Listen to the stupid scottish bastard!

Ferni bought a HKS kit from UPI not our kit from Meridian. So just goes to show nothing is perfect all the time. Even HKS can be crap.

:talk2hand: Dont talk to me you tourist   SAU's man of mystery who majically appears at track days around the country :D

pfft you started it.

talking of different cars......http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=50824

Looks like you figured it out Adz... its not my sandwich plate that is wrong, i think its the (4) fittings up to it, and as scottsman said i had a HKS kit fitted by UPI.... they said to bring it down and they will fix it, so hopefully no big deal, as soon as i can get my car back together... supposed to be getting a heater core tomorrow, so will be trying to figure out where everything goes back in the dash tomorrow night. Not paying $200 for a day at PI, if my car is working by then i might come and watch, or if anyone offers me a $110 ticket i'll put my car on the track, gotta beat that 1.57 the instructer ran in my car...

There were a few guys interested in attending this day yesterday.

My advise is if you wish to attend then give Chris Kelly a quick call and tell him you are from Skylines Australia. He's knows we have a bunch of guys interested and there was still room left on Friday afternoon. Tell him you will come along if its only $110.

For a HSV guy he's a damn good bloke from my dealings with him! haha. He can be contacted on the following number.

0419 003 529

If he says all is good I have the fax details that you can send your forms into. The more skylines the merrier guys! :D

Ok we have my friends place for the weekend. Need to know who requires accomodation. We have 3x double beds and 3x single beds. Plus two couches if required. Drivers will get prefrence on beds. We will have to chip in a few bucks for the electricity and water bills.

w00t I'd love a bed for the weekend, happy to chip in $ and beer :)

What are the logisitics for ppl leaving on Fri night, where and when? (and make it easy for a nsw-er to find :) )

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
