i think the guys at holden are happy that they can make their own engine!

steve

Pff, its just a variation of an engine thats already around. As if they'd make their own.

Seriously though, if they named them the way some of you guys wanted it would be Suzuki Slow Shitbox.

Mitsubishi Death Trap

Toyota Poor Handling.

At the end of the day its just a name, and most of us would be looking at the car when buying it.. Not the name.

So are you saying you would consider buying a "Daewoo shitbox" or a "Mazda Poofmobile" if they were actually released?

I dont care how cheap the "Mazda Poofmobile" is... i aint buyin it :shake:

For those criticising the Spotivo range and similar 'add bodykit and suspension tune' cars, remember these things actually sell and there is a market for cars that are cheap to insure, cheap to buy, cheap to service (ie. they have all the benefits of a mass produced family salon), yet look a little bit better than the stocker.

Sure the names are stupid, but what do you expect? "The Toyota Camry Mildly Sporty"?

There was quite a long article about this in the Drive liftout of the Sydney Morning Herald not long ago.

LW.

Hahahaaa, that's OK, I just a chick in the most gayest, riced - up, piece of crap Mitsubishi Charade with the fattest, most crap body kit, lowered to the sh_t, with Ralliart stickers all over it, try to drag me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only a **** brain would buy a car and think it goes fast because they have a badge / sticker on it that says something special!!!!!! AAAGGGHHH :P

yeh, those Mitsubishi lancer with Evo body kits on always think themselves are actually drving a Evo, esp those with bolt on turbo~.~ :shake: but they still enjoy drag with u at traffic light even they are far eating smoke behind :Pimp2:

No, I'm saying thats what would happen if thats what you guys wanted them to be honest and not care about sales.

They (car manufacturers) Have to make it sound half reasonable or else nobodies going to buy it.

oh and i also hate how people use the "GT" or "GTR" letter shit cars.

steve

um GT = Grand Touring... it was around loooooooong before the term "GTR" was termed... termed by the Germans as well... not the Japs :D bit of trivia for ya skanky ass :D

Try the Mitsubishi Mum or the Suzuki Afternoon Tea

Whats wrong with the Mitsubishi mum... i think thats a good name. She's a big 500cc mumma, plenty of power on tap with 30 hp. Good looks & aerodynamic design. & She'll always look after you coz she's ya mum. Does your mum have 30 hp? No... i didnt think so.

:D

Since *quite* a few of the Aust. Public are tainted by the idea that performance is based upon and proportional to how many litres an engine has.. perhaps one day much like AMD has done with naming it’s CPU’s virtual speed instead of clock cycles.. the Holden Astra Sri turbo will be rebadged 4L instead of its actual capacity of 2L (since loosely – a standard turbo can be translated into doubling the capacity of the engine). I wouldn’t put it past Holden.. nor the public snapping them up unawares, considering the mount of Camery ‘sports’ I see on the street

 626 wagon > stagea? wtf please explain

the 80's were pretty good for starting some pretty ghey car models like the mazda 323 shades. should have been the mazda 323 nana can you see a young person with those sick louvres on their car? or the nissan pulsar reebok. nissan must have thought they would sell by association hmm.

    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
    • Nah, that is hella wrong. If I do a simple linear between 150°C (0.407v) and 50°C (2.98v) I get the formula Temperature = -38.8651*voltage + 165.8181 It is perfectly correct at 50 and 150, but it is as much as 20° out in the region of 110°C, because the actual data is significantly non-linear there. It is no more than 4° out down at the lowest temperatures, but is is seriously shit almost everywhere. I cannot believe that the instruction is to do a 2 point linear fit. I would say the method I used previously would have to be better.
