Hey Guys,

I got the call at 6am this morning, one of my cousins was killed in a car accident last night at around 11.30pm.

We dont have all the details yet but what I know is she was being driven home from a work christmas party and a drunk driver collided with them and killed her. The driver of the other car is in hospital with minor injuries.

Her son, 16 years of age has not had a dad since he was born and his mum was his life. Now he has nobody.

Please, everyone on SAU.. and everyone who reads this, dont drink and drive this holiday season. Its just much easier to catch a cab and not suffer the consequences of either dying, getting injured for the rest of your life.. or in this situation ruining lives of really nice people.

Condolences..

I've found it very hard without my dad around (died Nov. 21 2003, RIP dad..) and my mum and brother are all I have and am thankful for them..My feelings and those of my family reach out to you..

Poor fella, to have never known his dad and now his mum taken from him, near Christmas time too..The drunk bastard will now carry this on his conscience for the rest of his life, killing someone at such a time of year and leaving her only child behind..

Pentae, please seek some counselling for the poor 16-year old guy, or be there for him as his confidant or someone he can speak to, to empty his chest of his sorrows etc. I was suicidal when dad died, the things stopping me from going to the other side was the promise I had made while he was alive that I would take care of the family, and the school counsellors, my teachers, and my mum being there whenever I needed to talk..All in all, it will be a very hard time for this guy, so be there to help him through this pain :(

Merry Christmas, and please don't drink and drive this holiday season :(

That's horrible to hear. People that pay the ultimate sacrifices for someone else complete stupidity.

If you drink and drive, your not a bloody idiot, your a ****en idiot.

Now some poor kid has lost both his parents. Please think of other people's safety before you jump in a car. You might be willing to kill yourself, but others dont need to die.

    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
    • Yeah - I mean, go the other way. Smaller range. Not larger.
