Hey guys,

Just thought I'd post up a little update on my cars. First bit of news is that the GTI-R has been sold :):P

The funny thing is, on the same day I was going to drop it off to the new owner, my import approval arrived for this:

and it's booked on a ship leaving japan on 20/12 and arriving in OZ on 12 January (which is when I'll be in Japan - weird). It's supposedly in very good condition and has some light mods (coil overs, clutch, wheels, exhaust, oil cooler etc).

I've also just negotiated the purchase of this for me and my girlfriend to cruise around in the mean time:

and the rear end:

It's a UZZ32 Active soarer which means it comes with the active, hydraulic suspension (as opposed to the usual air bags that many V8 soarers have), and all the top of the line goodies. It has the TV, and reverse camera (very cool) and every luxo feature you can name (auto headlights, speed sensitive wipers, seat heaters, 12 stack cd stacker with lots of speakers, even a subwoofer).

So, looks like I'll be attending meets in the land yacht for a little while.

Bob: or I could get a towbar for the GTR, and race the boat! Works for John and the z-sled.

Fatz: no doubt, but this particular active just had the struts rebuilt and re-charged with hydrogen just over a month ago. :)

Richard

mmmgtir: nice car the pics put the icing on the cake. when u told me about it on sunday it sounded good but after seeing pics of it. :aroused: a mint sc400/soarer. :drooling: of course that r32 gtr looks that goods as well :drooling::drooling::drooling:

Duncan, yeah that diagnostic mode is so cool. Surely there must be some kind of aftermarket controller so you can make it do what you want? that would be sweet. the GTR is booked to leave Japan on 20 December, arriving 12 Jan.

cc: for sure it's sad to see the little animal go, but the new owner seems to like it as much as I did, I'm sure he'll give it a good home, and as soon as your car is sorted, and mine here, cruising will be on the cards.

GTR!!!: thanks mate, the soarer was a real find.

mal: he he, we'll see! It may seem a little tame after the XR though. :flamesuit on:

I just cant wait to get it here and sorted now.

Richard

yea get a tow bar dude you know you want to

is this going to be the new SAU tow car now? he he. members rates to all SAU members:

if your RB26 gets b-manned at the track (which it no doubt will) I'll tow you home in luxury for $50 :D

n1 engine, turbos, trust 6 speed, f50 brembos, and then some!!

hehe cant wait. its sure going to be a big move up from a gti-r as thats what i have now..

Well boys. I picked up the soarer last night and I have to say, I'm very impressed. It is such a nice car, every possilbe luxo feature you could imagine (and some you couldn't). Also, if any of you were listening to nova this morning you may have heard a funny story about me buying the car. :)

Richard

Ha ha - give it to me ! ! I'll break it for sure !

Nice once Richard.

You gotta change your login name to mmmgtr now :P

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
