Ok you guys are going to laugh so ahrd when i say this but its really irratating me!

My right hand indicator flashes at a normal rate

My left hand flicker flashes like its on some kinda party drugs and almost is enough to trigger an epiletic fit. Its really annoying me.

Ok i know your probably rolling around the floor in hysterics now muttering something about female drivers .... but is there any way to sloooow this down .... does it mean the fuse is on its way out?

The squeeky rotors dont annoy me .... the really bad suspension doesnt annoy me .....the fact that it has 3 months worth of dust on it doesnt annoy me ...... but for some reason this does!

ah kay i will check globes - that did cross my mind but i forget about it when im out of the car and when im in it i get reminded.

Thanks for your help - knew it would be something simple ..... guess they are a barsted to get to ..to replace too when you dont know what the hell your doing.

omg i hate squeaky rotors... mine are a BITCH... (plus theyre grinding aswell.... big lose... steve at sst can fix em up or quote me new gtst calipers and rotors or something when i get my service done... but till then i must live with it! ;) )

anyone good at aligning headlights (ive tried... i suck)?

i bought some supposedly wicked globes but they dont seem to light up the road as much as my last set :S im thinkin the alignment on them is out..

My right hand side indicators do this sometimes aswell. Not all the time, just sometimes.

Last time it did it i got out the car to check the bulbs and they are all fine so the wiring in the car is munted somewhere.

Shaun

yeah the wiring in my car is pretty munted ...... but its only started in the last week - and it seems to have gotten faster since i first noticed it.

Quite a quirky little thing cos the right is fine ..... the left is off its tits hahaha

When i was driving around without my front bar for a while, both indicators were going skitz working double-time. But when i put a new front bar on and hooked up the attached front indicators, the blinkers returned to normal.

When a bulb went out on my right front, the right indicator went nuts again too. But when i changed the bulb it was fine again...

I think its a bulb. :P

its easy to check...turn on your left hand indicator and walk around the car to see which globe isn't working.

i had the same problem. indicator flashes like mad. For mine it was the front left indicator in my old GTR front bumber. Turned out to be a loose connection on the bulb holder. Re-connected and worked fine. Same thing happens with a blown bulb like Fane said.

yeah one of my indicators isnt working ..... found that out when i went to disarm my car and only one indicator flashed :)

Now i gotta change the globe - get it from repco? or something? ..... cos my boyfriend is being soooooo much help on this one :(

Maybe Repco are having a Xmas special on reco'd boyfriends so check it out :(

I had a problem with the indicator and noticed a puff of smoke one day from the steering column. It was the lubricant in the control box on the indicator stalk and was giving a funny contact that caused some fusing of the contact. It would flash real fast sometimes as well. I pulled the box (on the right side of the column) apart and cleaned up the grease and soldered the hole in the contact and good as new.

hahaha maybe geoff but i kinda like the one ive got (bf) - maybe if they could just reprogramme the ECU i would be happy :bahaha:

It cant be that hard can it? Oh well i'll get under the car and have a look (being front indicator .... and front bar not allowing access)

    • Version 1 aluminium airbox is.......not acceptable No pics as I "didn't like the look.....alot" Even after all my "CAD", and measurements, the leg near the fusebox just didn't sit right as it ended up about 10mm long and made the angle of the dangle look wrong, the height was a little short as well, meh, I wasn't that confident that Version 1 was going to be an instant winner I might give Version 2 another go, there's plenty of aluminium at work, but, after having in on and off a few times, and laying in the old OEM airbox without the new pod filter and MAF, there may be an option to modify the OEM air box and still use the Autoexe front cover and filter.... maybe This >  Needs to fit in here, but using the panel, and not the pod, the MAF will need to fit in the airbox though> I'm thinking as the old OEM box and Autoexe cover that is sitting in the shed is just sitting around doing nothing, and they are relatively abundant and cheap to replace if I mess it up and need another, it may well fit with some modifications to how the Autoexe brackets mounts to the rad support, and some dremiling to move it get in there, should give me some more room for activities, as I don't want to move the MAF and affect the tune Sealing the hole it requires to stick it in the air box is simple, a tight fit and some pinch weld will seal it up tight  I am calling this a later problem though
    • and it ends up being already priced in as though you're just on 91RON without any ethanol. Car will lose a bit of economy as the short and long term fuel trims bring down the AFR back to stoich or whatever it is for cruise/idle for the engine.
    • Oh, you are right. But, in Australia E10 is based on 91RON fuel and ends up being 94RON. Hence it being the cheaper option for economy cars. The more performance oriented cars go for the 98RON fuel that has no ethanol mixed in. The only step up we have left then at some petrol stations is E85.
    • There is a warning that "this thread is super old" but they ignore that anyway...
    • With 10% Ethanol, we're talking 2-3% fuel consumption difference. The emissions reductions and octane boost in my opinion far outweigh this almost non existent loss.    My tanks sitting at 80%. Luckily that should go down fast as I'm on vacation again for the next two weeks.
