that would be great Lee :(

nengun and greenline have both confirmed it for me now though that they are discontinued. although they are still listed on the hks-jpn site, along with the gt-ss and gt-rs.

i guess SS/RS is the future, they are also priced a fair amount higher than the 2530-2540's were at the moment

Yep, got told the same thing. SHIT.

Right after i'd ordered it from greenline too :(

What else is exactly like it ? I wanted a 2535 dammit!

no need to worry, there will still be stocks of these turbos around the world. Just better get in quick before they run out!

the GT-25 series is not entirely gone...the GT2530 and GT2530Kai are still available.

phew! Cause I would be pissed if I couldn't get my hands on a pair of 2530s when the time comes.

Richard

Ide say its for the best, they'll surely start research or already have into a more advanced turbo range to superceede the 25xx series

Youd think.

I do know that garret make the 2535 turbos still.I just recently got a quote from horsepowwer in a box for it.

Just order hks comp/exh turbines and fit! wallah! is that possible?:D

The hks 2535 had had some kik arse punch in it by the looks of the dyno graphs that hks have on the rb25det..

I would not loose any sleep . Garrett do two CHRA's very similar to the 2530 , one is from the GT28RS (better 60mm compressor) and one called the GTR upgrade CHRA . In fact garrett do a similar if not identical turbo to the 2530 for direct fitment to the RB26 .

The GTRS is only badge engineering on a 2871R (see ATP Turbo.com) both are streets ahead of the HKS GT2540 which was garbage anyway .

Any one with tap into HKS will find they had an exclusive tie with Garrett to produce certain combinations of compressor and turbines . This would have had a sunset clause and competition issues would have stuffed it for HKS . So you'll find all these things being sold round the world by Garrett (who makes them anyway) for less than HKS thievery .

Cheers A .

The whole Garrett / HKS connection has been done to death, there's a HUGE thread around here somewhere about it, and summation seems to be:

Yes, HKS are Garrett items, but in unique combinations and specs you can't buy from Garret direct.

If you want to discuss it further i suggest revive the aforementioned thread.

The point I'm making is that just because HKS don't sell it any more dosen't mean it CAN'T be bought off Garrett or some supplier of . Give me an example of a HKS turbo that can't be replicated and I'll show you how it can . 2540's and 3240's could be a challenge but better things are available anyway .

OK looking at it now, it is correct but the GT-25 series is not entirely gone...the GT2530 and GT2530Kai are still available. Also you can still buy GT25 0.64 and 0.86 exhaust housing.

Gone

GT2510

GT2535

GT2540

GT2540R

Can anyone tell me what the difference is bewteen the standard 2530 and the 2530KAI ? not only in terms of dimensions but driveability and top end power ?

Thanks

Jeremy

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
