Bec - different Troy! The one helping me is ylwgtr2 - the drunk one you will be stuck with is Roy!

:P

LOL - I know they are different Troy's - YLWGTR2 (troy) is coming to Winton as well apparently and we were trying to find out if he wanted accommodation as well - but if he's fixing your gearbox then I guess he won't be needing it.

As if you'd let Roy near your gearbox!!!!

What is this 7am start. If the drive is 2 hours, hmm, thought gates open 8. Can you rock up late?

My friends have suddenly become interested in going up. But we are looking at the onsite camping, $15 a night from what i read on website.

Is there no scrutineering? Im low on information, last minute decision.

Is petrol easy to get hold of up there. Expensive. Should jsut bring a jerry can?

There is a special "skylines" service station at Benella which is 10mins drive away. Because you will probably get LOTS of track time you will need up to 2 tanks of fuel for this day. Its prolly a few cents more than Melb. But not heaps more.

There is scruiteneering - its VERY basic and doesnt take long. I can garantee it won't start at 9:30am. The head of the Benella Auto Club does this REALLY annoying speach before the event about the whole AASA v CAMS thing thats boring as all hell and goes for ages. But he does it every time. Leaving the start of the Hume at 7:00am will be perfect.

Ok - unfortunately Im out of the Sat night Wang special.

And its all Adz's fault. Due to his car being such a pain the only time Troy has available to pull my box out is Sat night. So I will have to come down with the Sunday morning crew.

:boohoo: :grouphug:

For the accomodation I have placed my credit card down as the deposit to hold 3x 5 Person appartments. It works out at $30 Per Person. Rather than stufing around when we get up there, I might get people to Direct Deposit $30 into my account. This will save us scrounging around for peoples loose change and frantically swapping notes to get the $30 each right, with 15 people standing in the office.

So people can either DD to my account and i'll chuck it all on credit, or make sure you have $30 cash to hand out to me and I can just walk straight in their and get it sorted. This will mean we can get on with the beer and pool. 35 degrees is forecast for Saturday.

Here is my account details:

Please use your forum name as a description if using Netbanking, and PM me once you sent the money. If paying for two or three please indicate.

Also the first 15 people will get this price. If we need more than 15 beds, then additional rooms will need to be booked, but the price will be slightly more for the night. I think it was like $35- 40.

The first 15 ppl? I was like last on the list so how much? I just checked this thread tonight.

It's OK - you have a bed - we have an option to chuck an extra bed in the lounge rooms of the aportments (for an additional price) so a couple of extras wont kill us - if we get a few more people though I will look at booking an additional room.

frankly I don't trust you and all this slush fund business is getting me nervous

well Shivam's mate "300ZX Guy" has to work this weekend so he has had to pull out - although this does mean Shiv gets his car for the weekend....

anyways - so we are back to 15 people - so everyone gets a bed at the moment

Chris/Bec, unfortunately one of my mates had to pull out also, sorry .

So now it's me plus 1.

and they're dropping like flies

everyone remember to BRING YOUR CB'S FOR THE TRIP UP!
- someone bring me one - ill be bored driving up by myself
picking up my car tonight! Saw it last night and reeeeeeeeeeeow!!!

I bet it looks sexier than the last time i saw it!!!

    • Yea that's a fair assumption. I'm presuming they call them solid lifters as they have no moving parts like hydro lifters.
    • I believe you're confusing WMI with water injection. Looking at that graph, the 93aki+WMI car is making more power than C16 race gas. Boost juice, which is what I also run, is Snow Performances 50/50 premix.
    • GCG is a good company, they're a major distributor for Garrett in Japan as well.
    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
