just got back from overseas

car was sitting in the yard for 5 weeks, and dad didnt start her up at all. tried to start her up but the battery was flat, which i had dad hook up his battery, still no worky

car won't kick over, cant push start cos its in the back yard.

any ideas anyone, i was really looking forward to going for a drive, but cant :rofl:

Umm guys - original post says Dads battery used (assume good), still no worky.

Does it Krank at all, or is it a click, or nothing.

Also assuming member of NRMA or willing/able to pay call out fee.

All obvious checked (fuel, fuses, rotor button/lead, plugs, etc..). Didnt disable to prevent theft whilst OS. Doesn't smell fuelly like flooded ? Is it a carboureted car? Fuel pump/filter ok?

Sounds like no spark but for what reason. If already tested with good battery hows starter motor, coil? etc...

Process of elimination start at the obvious and least expensive and work through it. Have fuel?, spark? and lastly oxygen

Just a thought so dont flame me.

should have made it clear that i only hooked up dads battery to mine by jumper leads.

put dads battery in an hour ago and she started up beautifully, then transferred my dead one over, and i've left the car running for the last hour. will shower and drive out to the battery shop, see what they think - yes sir, it's dead, well not completely, but it's christmas, and i need money, so buy this new lovely battery.

oh, and i drove the car a mere 15m from the yard into the driveway, it was like driving a car for the first time, having gone so long without. should take it slowly today :)

On another note, you really shouldn't jump start a car with an ecu installed. You can if you have an antistatic lead and/or a zap box. As Rachel Hunter says...................iwhobiwh.

Just be aware that you can send a zap to the ecu and scramble its poor little brain.

Better/safer to swap batteries.

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you  
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'  
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
