heya,

tried to remove the spoiler of my r33 the other day but ran into problems so i decided to stop before i f*#ked somthing. so just wondering the best way to remove the spoiler from a r33 without ***ing paint, bonnet or spoiler. :D

i undid the four bolts (well that all i could find, dont know if there is any more?) that attach the spoiler and unclipped the brake light wire. but with all these bolts undone it would not budge. i didnt force it to hard because i am not sure if it is atrtached with some sikaflex or somehting and i didnt wan to take any paint up with it.

can anyone shed some light into the best way to remove without f#&king anyhting...????

cheers!

matty

ok, well if u were smart, take my advice, and dont do it..unless ur willing to pay something like $400 to get it fixed.

i took the spoiler of my r32, and had the same problem...bolts were off, but the spoiler was still stuck to the boot with an adhisive. so anyway, with some really hard jerking, i managed to get it off. now its left with glue shit, and holes.

been quoted, its gonna cost like 400 to fix, but i think its worth it, r32's look so much hotter without spoiler.

also, amond the jerking, i ****ed up the cord that opens the boot from the inside.

so now i can only open the boot with the key. :D

but yea, u dont see many r33's without spoiler's, so its something different, so go ahead, but if ur scared, just take it to a panal beater or something.

yeah i have mine off now. It can be hard to take the wing off on r33s because they have some extra plastic fasteners holding it down. take care when pulling it off because you are more likly to destroy the wing rather than your paint work and you will get left with a few holes too

DRFTR33, so when you removed your wing it didn take any paint up with it? you are only left with four holes right?

not to concerned with wrecking any of the plastic fasteners as the only wing that goes back on will be a stealth wing...if i can ever find one at a decent price :)

mattysaidso: The cheapest ive ever seen a stealth wing is at www.carmate.com.au

they want $220 + $50 freight.... not too bad i reckon (unpainted) + they said $50 for me coz im in south aust. so could be cheaper depending on your location

JMS here in Adelaide, the bunch of creamers, wanted something ridiculous like $395 for one unpainted.... :bs!:

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
