Hmm, I'm gonna go shoot some cops !!!(i am jokin here) omg sorry, im now guilty of muder and can be jailed:lol:

Thats the dumbest article ive ever read who the hell wrote that garbage. How can u make a realtion between reality and the net? it just doesnt make sense. How exactly are these ppl "defying" police by posting stuff like that?? only when they go out on the street and actually do it is this relevant at all. Keep in mind that alot of these ppl will pull over at the first sign of the ol' blue and red. Next thing u know they will say any1 with a high powered car and a computer is a crazy street racer.

*sigh* yet another dumass writing about something he has absolutely no comprehension of.

Well, its been stated elsewhere, habitual drink drivers pose a far greater threat to society, yet there has been absolutely no effort to apply the same level of punishment to these dregs of society. These bozos simply walk away with a slap on the wrist. They get their licence suspended - again! (how can you suspend a licence that's already on suspension?). But they continue to offend, and no-one does a cracker to stop them.

Fair enuff but how many times do u here about ppl gettin busted for draggin as opposed to ppl gettin done for DUI. What do u want em to do?? publicly stone them to death? i have a m8 that got done a few years back for DUI and he used to drive home every weekend trashed. Since he got his lic back he hasnt once got behind the wheel even slightly pissed, now that is what they are trying to acheive so good on em.

Gotta fight a war on all fronts and thats what they are doin. Its mainly the fear thing that they are tryin to get into our heads. who would honestly drag under the threat of being caught when they can go to a track?

I'm not talking about 1st time offenders, I'm talking habitual / repeat DUIs - like that the sphincter of the universe you've got over there in the West (ACA the other night). Despite being a repeat DUI, he still has his car. He just doesn't have a licence.

Suspending their licence doesn't stop them driving, and it doesn't stop them driving drunk. LOCK THE BASTARDS AWAY (IMHO) so they can't continue to not learn the lesson we are trying to teach them. Or at least confiscate his car so he can't drive it for a while.

Yeh i get ure point but ACA is not exactly a real source of info seeing as its just tabloid news. Think i saw that story, they heckeld the guy in the bottle shop and said ooooh hes evil cause hes in abottle shop but he was buyin fanta and his m8 was drivin. IMHO ACA should have a disclaimer "all stories are based on actual events" cause thats all they are "stories" not fact at all any1 who believes otherwise is an idiot (no offense intended to any1 who watches it).

The problem is that there is a grey area between actually criminal offenses and traffic infringments so it kinda makes it hard and can create issues. These ppl are odd cases and for the amount of ppl who are DUI offenders id say these types make a VERY small percentage. I dont think the same could be said for ppl with speeding fines now could it??:)

what a totally pointless article!!

of course people are going to be opposed to having their car impounded!! so they have a bit of a whinge about it on their club website - umm so what?? they probably whinged to their mates too, oh and their gf, maybe even the next door neighbour :)

My point is...it's not exactly "news" that people have a bit of a bitch on discussion forums.

must have been a slow news day :)

But do u hear any objections to movies like "the fast and the furious"?? well i havent seen it yet but im sure it would make every dumass riceboy wannabe get in their dads car and try and drive it under a truck or sumfin completely dumb like that. U know how ppl come out of a jackie chan movie and are all like "whhaaaa wgahh hrakow " with there m8s as they jump around like tools. What makes sensors think that these same idiots wont do the same on the road?

Hoons use Net to defy crackdown....

I guess:

"Car Owners voice their opinion on a serious issue affecting them via the fastest growing method of communication"

just wouldn't have the same ring to it now would it (besides being too long winded!).

so the story goes, a pair of idiots in the US raced eachother after seing that movie, one of em plastered his car all over the back of another car or something. And you only had to stand outside in the cinima carpark and watch people drive out, u could see which ones had gone to see that movie, they were the excel drivers trying to pull drags with skylines and stuff on the way home....

Guest Boxhead

i think they make out street racing to be alot more dangerous then it actually is.. granted some is dangerous...

but there are other times were you race to the speed limit.. anyway i dont think hooning will stop. personally i would rather here about car enthusiasts meeting up havin a good chat about there pride and joy, then getting together and raping girls or murdering people..

    • Give it 40psi and send it to the moon
    • I suspect 550s are on the large side for happy operation with a stock/Nistune RB20 ECU. The Hitachi ECU doesn't love short pulse width operation, and the RB20 doesn't need much fuel at idle. Big injectors can be unpleasant. This could be contributing.
    • Yeah, I still don't know why the idle speed control can't catch the falling RPMs. In the Consult logs I see the AAC duty cycle rising, but suddenly it goes lean and the engine stalls. Anyways, the relevance here is the DW 550cc injectors are probably the same. So if OP has similar issues I would be tempted to finger those injectors as problematic for whatever reason vs the ECU failing for some reason.
    • Yeah, sort of blurring two different things together, aren't we? I just meant O2 feedback closed loop. I used to have a 0-1V LCD meter on my dash, wired directly to the O2 sensor signal. So you could easily see what it was doing. Normal running it would flick back and forth nicely. Slow down to an idle and it would keep flicking, as the ECU tried to servo to maintain stoich, but it would slow down as each swing happened until it would stay at one end of the scale. As I said above, the sensor heater is not enough to keep it hot enough when there is also little heat in the exhaust flow. Give it a blip and it would start swinging again, then peter out again. Meanwhile, idle speed control would run just fine, because unrelated.
    • It's not even O2 feedback, it's just simply when the ECU sees the closed TPS signal for whatever reason the idle will start steadily dropping until the engine dies. With the TPS adjusted to not trigger closed TPS it will idle at some ridiculously high RPM and something like 6 degrees of timing. In the absence of getting eyes on it personally and a lot of quality time doing diagnostics I couldn't tell you what the real problem was but it was interesting nonetheless
