ok, my mate brought a s1 r33 from there, stock except it had a gtr kit on it - auto

he has now:

exhasut

fmic

fuel cut defender

boost controller

since he got the car mid last year he has not been able to run more than 5 psi through it due to it missing VERY badly - he has chnged spark plugs, coils, got it tuned done a shitload of stuff to it and no fix....even at about 8PSI is starts ****ing up - not sur whats wrong - but it was like that when he got it - he also got ripped off a bit - he raced off and brought the first one he seen and paid 24000 for it....

another mate just brought a yellow s1 33 from there - all stock except an exhaust - i aint had a look at it yet so i'll get back to you :) But the car has been there for about 7 months or some shit....a bit strange

These guys to me sell some nice car - but fairly expensive...

I'm pretty sure an acquantance of ours bought a soarer from there. It was one that we were looking at which is why I know this feedback. He had it for a few weeks and the turbos blew. The company replaced them AFAIK which was really good.

That's all I've heard about them. Andrew probably has a more accurate account of the event.

you've probably already done this but gapping the plugs is usually the most common cause for that sort of missing. My car did it briefly even with brand new plugs, gap them to .8 and all is fine. Like i said youve probably already done this but if you havent it would definately be worth a try. g/l

From the couple of times i've been there, i've noticed that alot of their cars are overpriced, but you get that with dealers.

I also know they were selling a dodgey Skyline (Sorry, i can't remember if it was a '32 or a 33... it was too long ago... think it was a 33 tho)...

By dodgey i mean it was a frontcut and a rearcut welded together... I know this because a panelbeater near my place was the one that welded them together... saw it in there a couple of times during the process, and after painting. I then saw the car sitting in AJM about a month later. You can't miss it... its fluroescent green with 2 big, fat, black racing stripes over it. (it was at last years brisbane Autosalon too)

And you can live with yourself knowing this fact and doing nothing about it?

quite a lot of imports are half cuts put together... im not suprised at all as i know someone that did a few a few years back.. He assured me though if the job was done 100% right and with care then it was all good...

Problem with that is.... there are a lot people out there rushing jobs to make the quick $$$

There's some dodgy workmanship out there on the roads!!

But back to the point about AJM... had a few friends that have bought cars from there... one car was great and the other car was a shitter!! But its pretty much like that on most yards... get the good with the bad and vice versa..

I think they are a tad bit expensive though.. thats my 2cents worth!!

Mate, there's not a great deal i could do about it. its not 'illegal' in the sense of the term. They would just argue that they were a professional panel shop and that it was carried out properly, blah blah blah.. and besides that, they closed down a few weeks later and moved to the northern territory or something.

I've been letting everyone know about it at every chance i get, so that if they do come across it, they know to leave it well enough alone. So its not like i've just been turning a blind eye to it or whatever, i've been trying to warn people away from it.

And you can live with yourself knowing this fact and doing nothing about it?

    • Nice shot! They look super clean. The roof rack delete on the black one is interesting. Would like to see more pictures from different angles. It's subtle but could make quite a difference to how the car looks in profile.
