Hi Paul

Just a question about using Datalogit on the PFC

Can settings be password protected so no adjustments can made at a later date with the normal hand controller .

Have been trying to increase my boost slightly but will not exceed 0.54bar .

PFC and EBC kit fitted and tuned by a tuner with datalogit.

I do not wish to return to this tuner if this is the case as we had a few issues.

Any help on this would be appreciated

Cheers

Ike

Its ok mate I have sussed it out

a big update today;

Added FC pro djetro doesnt exist

Added fc pro pics

Added air temp replacement sensor

Added map sensor list

Added other ecu alternateives

Added updated order delays

Removed bankruptcy at the top notice

Added keep the pfc faq alive

Added oem top and side injectors (latency) under Injector Changing

Good on you for getting and keeping this going Paul. Thanks.

I have a question I couldn't see an answer to. My HICAS light comes on after about 25km of normal driving. How can I check for a code like in the stock ECU? Is it pointless anyway cos it will just say HICAS error or can I get get more info?

Thanks.

hi adam,

the only thing i can think of would be to put the stock ecu back in and see how that goes.

if it doesnt fail on the stock ecu then pfc isnt doing something the stock ecu is

i had this issue with a-lsd in my r33. it was relaying the TPS signal to the alsd puter in the boot, but the stock ecu did

  • 2 weeks later...

original site restored, so we dont need the other mirror any more

the vct kick off point cannot be changed with the hand controller

the default is 4700rpm on the rb25 r33 model

My power FC crapped itself and needed to be repaired.

It kept on reverting to the base map and was not saving certain settings after a tune.

I had a loose HC port and apparently the chip was fried.

$400 later and I am waiting for the unit back from Access with a new chip, and hopefully all problems solved.

Unfortunately the tune was lost (bit disappointed they didnt save the tune before replacing the chip), however I expected this and asked my tuner to save the last tune before I took it in - maybe a good point for anyone that has to send theirs off for repair.

Can anyone confirm what this $400 would have replaced? I could not get a definate answer whether it was a major component of the unit (i am not very electronically minded) or if all I got was a small chip. The reason I ask is that I am just curious whether i essentially have a 'new' unit, or if most of it was retained and I have just a small bit replaced.

Cheers

if you've lost the tune data, then they probably replaced the nvram chip

this is the chip that stores your tune data and settings when the power is off

if its damaged or cooked it might not update itself with any new changes, which is what u were seeing

So this is a fairly small component of the unit?

Any chance damage to this would cause an unusually high battery draw? Usually my battery goes flat in 2-3 days, but since I took the PFC out to send it away the battery hasn't gone flat (the doors still open with the alarm remote after a week - they dont usually last that long)

I have been reading everyones guides(especially paul) and been a great help so far thanks heaps.

had my car tuned with powerfc and most things are fine but if i coast up to lights or stop sign in neutral the idle sits at about 1200rpm but then when i come to a complete stop it drops back to usual about 750rpm. anu ideas on what is going on? other than this idle is prefectly stable all the time.

cheers

id say aac valve could need a clean the gasket could be toast and leaking a bit

thanks for reply. the only thing is that it only started happening after i put the power fc in...it jumps between 1200-1400 then drops back to normal. with stock ecu i could coast to a stop and idle was fine, thats what has confused me.

I got the power fc D-jetro on a GT-R R33 ...The stock load points are maxing out at 1 bar of the T88 ...Is there a way I can rescale the load points on the D-jetro power fc ?

It came with two apexi/denso map sensors

hi,

there is no official english manual. that link pointed to a english version for the integra so some of the features were irrelevant

ive managed to source english manuals for the fc pro software which covers all the main controls in the powerfc so there will be a big update to the power fc faq coming soon with all the legit english instructions

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
