Faq: Apexi Powerfc - Frequently Asked Questions

I've asked about it from a few tuners and all have reported to just leave it and dont change it

Ive connected a Wideband A/F guage and if i give it medium throttle, it richens up to say high 11's and then goes to mid to high 12's once your on the throttle and the accelearting enrichment has gone. This is only on medium throttle with very little boost. I played with it and now im in the 12's and ive noticed an improvement in throttle response. '

I'll do some more testing and leet you know how i go.

Has anyone tried playing with the Accelerating Enrichment program on the Power FC?

Here's some info I posted elsewhere in a Datalogit context.

The "Inj vs Accel TPS1" area of the 'settings 2' tab affects the

linearity of the Accelerate Injector settings. You don't want 100%

of 'accelerator pump' settings to kick in when you just apply, say,

a 25% change in throttle position. Nor do you necessarily want 25%

of the extra fuel. The 'input' field is throttle position in units

out of 256. (128 = 50% throttle) The 'setting' field is the fraction

of Accelerate Injector setting out of 256 that will be applied give

the partial throttle increase. There are three 'linearity'

adjustment points, but be aware that there are two more fixed ones.

(0,0 and 256,256)

I've found that I need to set the first 'Input' box to a pretty low

TP number (5/256) and give it a fair shot of fuel (175/256) to avoid

leaning out under modest throttle increases. The PFC linearly

interpolates between these points, so for throttle positions between

the linearity adjustment points, you'll get a smooth transition.

Hope this helps,

Dan

There's an error in the FAQ. The R33 BCK is 3 pin for the MAP sensor harness to PFC, and the solenoid harness plugs straight into the harness for the oem solenoid.

You can control boost using the oem solenoid with the BCK MAP sensor (I tried this) but the control is awful, as you'd expect from a 2 port solenoid.

sorry yes the r33 gtst and gtr kits are 3 pin versions

i only recently learned this, didnt realise i had in the FAQ that GTR was 5 pin kit. updated

Hey guys,

Great thread!

I have a question.

On the old Nissan ECU, starting the engine was no problem at all. Sounded like 2 cranks and she lit up every time.

With the Power FC after, a full tune by the Hitman and the 30 min warm up idle setting, it takes about 8-10 cranks to start.

It starts every time, don't get me wrong.

Just thought it strange the standard Nissan did it better than the Power FC

Any settings i could be looking at?

Thanks

Birnie

hi, I've actually bought a used FC that has been in a car and tuned to 230rwkw with stock everything except cat back 3" exhaust. I have a full engine rebuild with ARC air box. full 3" to 3.5" exhaust will it be ok to plug it straight up or too much of a risk???

Also, i have an AVCR installed but never turned on, can i just use that boost kit and harness for the FC??? Or get it tuned straight away???

Just wanna be sure before i do anything??

Cheers in advance..
