For me its something that me and my guy have in common... I love cars - although he gets annoyed at me when i ask questions saying 'im not a mechanic - how am i supposed to know' but how am i supposed to learn if i dont ask questions. I have always loved cars, and would love to know more... I love driving his car too - but as he gets too parinoid with anyone else driving it - id prefer to drive mine... My car is gunna soon be replaced by a 88 prelude too .. Dont worry Skyline will still be there - cant sell a classic ;)

My GF kept telling me i spent too much money on my car and all i had bought was a "S" badge for the front grill. Now she's used to it and now she wants either a club sport or s15.... she drives a OLD XF Falcon.

Best thing to do is ignore what they say about u & ur car until they accept it or tell her if she doesn't like it she can drive... so you can drink :-p

My GF is really good company and quite technically knowledgeable when it comes to chatting about performance cars. She kept me company through my previous R32 GTS-t engine swap and kindly bought me out sandwiches and cold drinks daily  :)

Was that you the other day at the Farrington Rd lights? We had a quick chat, I was in the van.

hahaha

is anyone here mad enough to let ya misses drive ya skyline but?

I know i wouldnt i want it back in 1 piece after

yep, i did - once

its got a brass button clutch in it. In 5 minutes round the block she managed to stall it twice, jump a gutter, almost rip my kit off and almost cleaned up a parked SAAB.

All this under 4000rpm.

thats the first and last time she's driving it. Oh yeah, she had an accident in her brand new Echo 6 days after she got it. :P

My ex and I used to rebuild engines for my motorbikes together, she was quite good at it in the end.. Eevn helped me change the diff in my RX3.. Every gf since her has been a car lover, but ahs had no inclination to wokr on them...

Mine loves the R. She is a good driver though and is use to the ceramic clutch on eh V8 which is a lot more brutal compared to the R. She is also a Paramedic so she is used to driving on Priority Ones - lights and sirens.

She won't push it as much as I will but she won't get shown up either - just a warning.

Just an observation: how lucky are we to own a desireable car AND have the attentions of a significant other?! And when it comes to ladies who don't whinge,my wife is top of the list! Hell, she's the one researching a better fuel system ,bigger turbo etc for her car!! And don't forget Two.06l (Stacey)! How lucky is Paul from Dirt Garage to have a lady that actually wants to race a 460 kwatw R32 GTR?!?

My misses drives the GTR complete with puck clutch, but whats better is she is always buying new parts to modify it. so far she has bought

N1 turbos

100 mm fmic

Power FC

Apexi boost control

1st stage cams

and now she has larger injectors on way

so she can drive it when ever she likes :(

  • 3 weeks later...

My other half loves the 'line now!

I'm 25 and have only just bought it and we've gone through a whole bunch of shit paying for 3 car loans ever since, so all in all I'm glad she likes it.

I let her drive it sometimes, she hasn't really given it a bootfull yet, but she's not game to until I get a new set of rears either.

My mate and I have just finished and engine conversion on his gfs hachi, and she has to be the craziest femal driver I have ever seen. So with a 4A-GZE under the bonnet, she's gettin out on the track with us very soon!

Best part about the whole thing is, her and my wife have become great friends and not so long ago my wife says to me,

"When we move and I don't have to drive so much, how about we put the Lancer up for sale and buy me an S14?"

Fug yeah I say! :headspin:

well first of all i'm just grateful my gf doesn't know how to drive a manual!

anyways, i used to drive a sleeper VLT, and she hated it. THen i imported a red R34 GTT, and she loved it! but then again, it is a hot car. Now, after getting rid of the 34, i'm getting a monster R32 GTR, and she's like "it's ugly, the red one is better". Bah, can't win!

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
