Hey all;

Can anyone recommend a good stereo installer, one that comes onsite if possible, and is experienced with skylines to install new head unit, speakers and help design a mild system for me.

I have tried pm'ing Danny (Autotrust) but havent seen him online for a while and not even sure if he does this kinda work.

Many thanks

:P

very good deals and pricing and well sell you a good system and not bullshit stuff

ive seen these guys do 4 or 5 stereos in my cars and friends cars

nothing but good good

My mate ben does the works.

Alarms... Stereo's... anything you want. From basic to full competition/show style stuff.

People are very happy with his work thus far.

He's done a number of the SAU boys and girls now.

Lemme know if your interested.

Yeah, they do great work, but at very ncie price.

I know... i went there with and old car of mine years ago.

Wish i knew Ben then as he would have been half that.

does he come out to house/office??

Generally not. Having said that... he is doing one of our SAU Members 32 GTR by a home visit.

Its a bit hard as all his equipment is in his house. Especially if he is doing stereo... alarm isnt soo hard.

Do the head-unit yourself, it's REALLY easy.

Hi Greg;

I had already checked that thread, i may do it myself yet...

i have always done my cars in the past myself, this time i want a pro's help with ideas and good installation.

R31Nismoid i guess i dont mind driving to his place if he wants to do it over a weekend...can you pm me his number?

He can do it on a week night also, it wont take long and he is known for working on cars till 9pm-10pm if they are easy jobs :(

He is in the Western suburbs.

Worth a drive if your not close by tahts for sure.

ill PM his # tomoz, its not near me at the mo

ah glad this cam up. i think my securty system is some how stuffed up, it wont auto immobalize it self no matter how long i left it turned of, i have to use the remote. and also the alarm is fited to the horn, not to an alarm. its a Cyclops Paralyser. any one can tell me about good securtity system, and a reliable place to get it fixed somewhere in Knox/Scoresby?

I had Expert Installs come out and do mine. They charged about $60 to rig the head unit up as I didnt know the wiring in an old mazda. Usually come out within a day of booking and came out once to home and once to work for me.

    • It says 300ZX, does that make it an Aus delivered car? Funny how back in the day I just couldn't care less about Z32's and these days I am just in love with them. Back when Nissan was into pushing the envelope. 🤣
    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
    • Do you have some data like fuel pressure? It's really hard to say if you're still fighting a fuel system issue at this point. Could be something weird like the FPCM dipping out.
    • Yeah in that case, pulling the dent out. Event a very slight dent can create a lot of work filler-wise and there is a strong chance the panel won't be the factory shape when you are done (as the dent will result in a new high point created somewhere, then everything is brought up to that new high point... but the panel shouldn't be that high if that makes sense).  So you've filled and primed the panel and it is flat, why would you go back and remove the primer and add more filler?
    • Something else I have been faffing with while the car was off the road is making the AC work. Assuming the car isn't at a thermal limit the idea of having AC while waiting in line to go on track sounds delightful. I have actually been lugging around the weight of the entire system since 2018 when the RB25NEO went in without it working at all.  The main reason was in the first few events before I got around to re-gassing it the rubber hose that runs under the manifold had the factory heat wrap/sleeve fail resulting in this: ~2 years ago I purchased a complete used R32 AC line set but when I finally went to install it the line i needed was different where the expansion section is I found a local place that was able to replace the rubber section and re-crimp. They also added some modern heat sleeve to the hose Tight fit but fingers crossed this is the last physical piece of the puzzle needed
