None of the usual suppliers (Mod Your Car, Slidewize) are no longer able to source new Buddy Club rims. Apparently this is due to the Japanese company closing up shop. Have read a few forums which sorta confirm this:

Pissed me off no end. There's a bit more to it though, I'll see if I can find the other link..

Buddy Club has in fact closed up, the news was a month ago...the P1's are gone forevar!

Similar thing happened to SSR...the Type C's are gone forevar!

Influx of cheap China made rims, like the copies of TSR Type C's I saw here in Taiwan is the main reason. They look identical except for the logo, even the font and colours scene for the logo is identical just the brand name.

Such a pity...both SSR and Buddy Club poured heaps of money into redesigning the wheels with cheaper materials and process but failed to succeed. Hard to imagine but this is the story I was told when I spoke to my supplier in Japan last month. Even my mate at SA told me the same story, they have no more stock. This will only makes these wheels even more sort after as both these wheels models Type C and P1 QF are the lightest and 2nd lightest racing wheels in Japan...lighter than Volks TE37.

I actually heard that it's just the Jap owner (First Inc) going belly up, and that internationally Buddy Club is ok. I spoke with Jeff Ash at C-Red and he reckons that they make start taking orders again quite possibly as soon as a couple of months from now, but no official word.

I don't know about Buddy Clubs involvement outside Japan, but none of the wheel outlets in Japan can get any more stock then what they already have still remaining.

PS, I know Jeff Ash well , put him in contact with a couple of his suppliers in Japan.

    • I've replaced the front brakes of my NA to 324 brembos and 350z calipers: i'm going for 225/40-18 up front and 245/35-18 in the back. I have Rays 7.5*19 ET35(225/35) in the front with 5mm spacers otherwise the calipers "lock up/ won't rotate". When i use the calculator i come up with 8*18 ET30 for 225/40...... but not sure i get problems with the calipers. Anyone riding around with 18 inch. that can confirm "that it'll fit"? In the back it's 7.5*9 ET30 (245/30) with the 5mm spacers, but there is no problem with the standard small brakes, so i want to take 8.5*18 ET25 (245/35).
    • Lol.. but then.. always come back to a JDM..
    • Glad to hear. If possible, get your tuner to check air's to make sure everything is still where it should be.
    • The problem with FB/Insta/Reddit etc comments relating to cars is simple. You get to ask a question once, and get one round of replies. For things that can actually be answered in a few lines of text, once, it's fine. After 6 hours, your original question is lost to the void. There are no follow ups, additional questions, anything. No project car is ever such a simple list of questions to ask. You need discussion.
    • Welcome.  Here's what I have noticed about forum vs FB..... FB; seems to be wallet racing, and the same few questions asked over and over. There *may* be some groups that are closer knit, but most have changed for the worse. SAU; unfortunately, no longer in its glory days. But....genuine people with similar interests. Not all about how much you spent and saying you dont have enough power. Sooooooo much knowledge available. Have personally seen people post up about literally topics I made myself, asking on FB like no one has done it before. Most has been done, and most of that is here.   If you ever feel like just general chatting theres the wasteland.  Other interests are also generally covered in other areas of the forum. Hope you enjoy hanging around. We would love to have you.   P.s. nice 32 😀
