Im just curious...how many people come clean when they have had a problem with their car?

Be it blowing a motor, be it crashing a car, or simply claiming you are running something you aint & vice versa.

I find it disapointing from time to time that the whole story isnt told...if only for the fact that ppl could be spending/wasting money trying to achieve the same thing when the reality is the facts arent at hand. :(

Isnt the whole point of this Forum to share the good and the bad, as quite often more help/assiatance can be gained from hearing the bad

Anyway...

Well, I have no qualms about sharing the bad - accidents, breakdowns etc - talking about it's the best way to learn new things IMO.

But as for the good stuff, I feel it's probably not a great idea to go announcing to the world just how many goodies you have stuffed under the hood or in the trunk. After all, this is an open forum - anybody can read, right? Food for thought anways..

I find it nearly humourous all the troubles I have had and I do post them.

I had my ecu installed about a year ago and the longest I have had the car on the road for is about a month.

Soon after the ecu install it blew the inlet manifold gasket, so back it went and I decided to upgrade the fuel system while the plenum was off meaning I could run more boost.

Got it back and after about two weeks the coils died. Went back in again to upgrade ignition system and got it back last Thursday.

Drove it around for two hours and pretty sure I damaged 2nd gear as its whining its arse off. Didnt drive it Friday but took it out Saturday night just to cruise around. That was fine for about an hour and then it started to sound like a WRX coughing and farting everywhere. I checked all the obviuos things and cant find anything so called a mate with a tandem where its still sitting on waiting for some time for the 100km round trip to Bayswater.

There you have it. How many Hail marys will fix this curse I have Father Roy?

Hi Roy

I have to agree with you

I dont know how many times I have read of 200rwkw with only an exhaust and pod filter :bs!: even allowing for bad dyno results I cant believe these figures. I guess its an ego thing.

I admit I dont always tell my wife the cost of some of my mods, :) but on the forums I tell it as it is. 220wkw isnt a lot, but I have it, and my rwkw seem to be better than others who claim a lot more but cant keep up with me.

Hey Roy!!!

That 200rwkw mark isn't that easy to reach, certainly more than a pod and zorst.

Man, I agree. I've been told so often that my car should roll more than it does considering the above, however I wonder how real those figure really are. I thik its more embarassing saying you got something you ain't. Nothing worse than 220 rwkw's beating the amazing 250 rwkw claim.

    • Yeah in that case, pulling the dent out. Event a very slight dent can create a lot of work filler-wise and there is a strong chance the panel won't be the factory shape when you are done (as the dent will result in a new high point created somewhere, then everything is brought up to that new high point... but the panel shouldn't be that high if that makes sense).  So you've filled and primed the panel and it is flat, why would you go back and remove the primer and add more filler?
    • Something else I have been faffing with while the car was off the road is making the AC work. Assuming the car isn't at a thermal limit the idea of having AC while waiting in line to go on track sounds delightful. I have actually been lugging around the weight of the entire system since 2018 when the RB25NEO went in without it working at all.  The main reason was in the first few events before I got around to re-gassing it the rubber hose that runs under the manifold had the factory heat wrap/sleeve fail resulting in this: ~2 years ago I purchased a complete used R32 AC line set but when I finally went to install it the line i needed was different where the expansion section is I found a local place that was able to replace the rubber section and re-crimp. They also added some modern heat sleeve to the hose Tight fit but fingers crossed this is the last physical piece of the puzzle needed
    • the top black section is bonded to the silver section with some form of rubber. I assume to isolated NVH from the box
    • Plan B? Get someone to machine up a metal bush/collar/whatever it needs to be to replace the rubber? I haven't had a close look at that part recently to have a proper feel for whether that's possible. But it might be easy.
    • I do not want to install a short shifter and the only other stock throw shifter I have seen is the Nismo "Rigid shifter" for $290 So plan A is to fill it with sikaflex to stiffen it up and hope for the best
