Peter.  I want to run it that rich just to have a bit of a buffer zone as i will give it a hard time and just want to make sure its safe. Id rather sacrifice some hp and just make sure it doesnt ping. As with fuel thats the most that pump is gonna give at those afr's. Fabs gtr went about the same hp with a single 044 so im going to use 2 with a surge tank . Cams it is using are HKS 272 272 step 2 10.2 mm lift which isnt huge lift as they go up to 11.8mm on some. . As for target boost pressure this turbo should be in its efficiency at 24-27psi so thats what im heading for. Also lift the limiter from 8k to 9k when it has a fuel system to support it.

Why do you think it is the fuel pump? Have you monitored the fuel pressure on the dyno? If the pressure drops that means the pump is running out of flow capacity. With 13.8 volts via a relay and direct to battery connection the single 044 should have more than enough capacity to handle that sort of power.

ok cool

thats a pretty big buffer but ha each to there own and rich is safe

so by way of a the 800hp turbo at mid 20's psi with high lift cams and spinning it to 9000rpm you must be think around 600rwhp then at a guess.(or did you have a target in mind)

and if your going to spin it pretty hard what oil pump you using out of interest?

pete

sorry to hear about the box

Thanks yeh box is a bummer hopefully new one in by weekend. Im happy where it is at the moment as it feels nice to drive with not much lag and good top end. Im thinking in the mid 20's it may go near 600rwhp but until it does that i cant say what it will do but it is a good sign to be making good power at lowish boost. Its running a JUN oil pump.

I hope you have a large cost-effective supply of gearboxes...you'll need it

simon doesnt learn....

he went through about 8 or so rb20 boxes and still didnt learn

how many gtr boxes have to be killed :uh-huh:

car goes very nicely, was shotgun in it same say as the dyno run... can't wait till more boost and better tune

PLUS A DECENT GEARSET ;)

hey simon nice results :uh-huh:

pitty you sold me the spare gtr gearbox you had haha :)

goodluck and hopefully u can take me for a spin when its sorted to show me some single turbo power (and maybe ill convert mine to single haha)

cheers :D

    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
    • Just like in being 14mm too small (296mm) makes it not fit, being 14mm too big (324mm) it also won't fit. You want to find the correct rotor.
    • @GTSBoy Ok so that was the shops problem...they showed R33 rotors on R34 page and i did not know 296 do not fit(and are for R33) Yes i bought "kit" with rotors and pads. Pads are ok(i have GTT calipers front and rear). They have some 324mm but no 310mm. So i dont know if they would fit. I have 17inch LMGT4s So another question. Can i fit those in the rear or they are just "too" big for that?
    • I started removing the tank a while back with the intent to give it a proper clean. Got to a bolt that I couldn't undo completely due to a diff being in the way, so just said f**k it and siphoned the gluggy old fuel out and called it a day. Looking it the tank it looks less corroded than the one in the pics for that billet hanger from Frenchy's anyway. Isn't it the fuel filters job to worry about this stuff? I scraped off most the crusty shit of the hanger but will give it another go before reinstall coz maybe the fuel and return pipes are also full of gunk
    • Pretty sure it is a common fault. I believe this is the only part you need, but don't quote me as I don't have a V36.  I also believe it is a bit of a pain to change and the device needs to be encoded to the car once it is replaced, so may need someone with the right tools.
