kingkong
thats exactly it a navara? we call em hardbodys for some reason. ive thought about a 383 stroker engine but my buddy allready has one done like this with a super charger i wanna blow his doors off with a 600rwhp rb25. and besides his truck is too heat to drive around with a supercharger stickin out of the hood. i wanna keep it clean sleeper style.and i still cant figure out how to put pictures up id like to show u this truck. Sumo
Well mate, I honestly think you'll have to be creative with your exhuast manifold and turbo placement if its Left hand drive. As for looking like a sleeper, well you will need a fair bit of clearance if the turbo has to be moved upwards to miss a steering rack and your dump pipe will have to be made up to go around it also. Im not saying it cant be done, I just hope that your a boilermaker by trade and you shouldn't have to many issues. Then once thats complete, you'll need your mechanical and electrical trades in your back pocket to get her up and running Cheers Sumo Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/81798-rb25-in-a-truck/#findComment-1492291 Share on other sites
Sumo
I just remembered their is some bloke in here that has put an RB20 into a 240sx in here from America... he might be able to fill you in on how to get around the steering columb issues. RB30-POWER
Whats the weight of one of those trucks? Can't see an RB25 having the required displacment for an enjoyable and fun ride myself. Maybe look at a Lexus V8 or something. If you want something that has a bit of "tech" associated with it. Sumo
Whats a truck weigh? I doubt that its too much more then a gtst if any... And the 91 Nissan Navara 4x4 petrol version came with a 2.4ltr - so the RB25 should cope pretty easily. kingkong
i think the truck weighs about 2600kgs. if i put a turbo on the stock engine i could make just as much power as the sr but my engine is shot and i want a six cylinder and the rb25 would be perfect im ordering the engine soon im waiting to hear from japan if i could get a something with about 600whp. i got a little 75shot zex im wondering what would be the best setup if i use the nos. blind_elk
That's a KA-24 engine isn't it? 4-cylinder job? Is there room up front for 2 extra cylinders? What about shoe-horning a VG30DETT from a Z32? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/81798-rb25-in-a-truck/#findComment-1495274 Share on other sites
kingkong
ya it does have the ka24e and no it doesint have enough room for 2 more cylinders. i have to cut out the fire wall and tunnel it about 3 inches plus i have to cut out the front end and mount the rad 2 inches forward. its alot of work but should be worth it. Dee 33
If it's 2.4 tonne then I don't know how the RB25 will handle or even the RB26. If you must go this route go the 2jz-gte.
