Guys - this is a DINNER.

You don't need a car. You don't need a licence. You don't need to bum a lift.

It's in the city on a Saturday night - no-one can say they don't know how to get there.

It may be something a bit different, but when was the last time you had dinner with an Australian sporting champion? Show some team pride and come along!

Don't forget to nominate for the awards either!

What about sending an email out to all members directing them straight to this thread incase people are not coming on here much with the site being down and bugs etc.

There are less votes than members at a meeting which doesnt make much sense.

Well

Im a member and didnt recieve a PM or anything for a invite, so I suggest the people organising it send some invites out.

I will be definetly attending the event, probably have to carry brisby home too - i think well have to taxi it.

247 reads, only 26 votes in the poll

now 33 votes, BUT if you break it down

9 votes X 1 person

17 votes X 2 ppl

1 vote X 3 ppl

1 vote X 4 ppl

so that's 50 ppl attending, from the 33 votes, maybe with a group email being sent out and invites from some other clubs, the 100 could be achieved?

Guys,

Unfortunately we can't go ahead with this event as planned. We simply don't have the numbers or the finacial backing to run an event like this at this stage of the clubs existance.

However - it doesn't mean we will be doing nothing. We have a secondary option for another dinner night to be held later in the year (I believe it will be on November 26th) which will be held in conjunction with the WRX Club.

We will also use the date of October 1st to have a BBQ and Show n Shine day to celebrate the first year of the clubs existance.

Full details for these events will be posted soon and we hope to see you all along to support the club.

There was an email that Pete did...

20/8 - Were up to 45ppl out of 100 required.

I didnt recieve anything either mate :)

**Edit - My appologies, I did recieve it but it wasnt from the usual SAU mailing list but was from Pete's work addy so did get junked. Well done Snowy. :(

Would also like to say thanks for the effort and determination that the committee put into trying to get 1st Oct happening with the speaker, certainly appreciated. B)

Shame we can't get the numbers but the WRX club seem a good bunch of people so who better to do something with. Still looking forward to the 1st but gives me a little more time to get a suit sorted for the evening. B)

This is a pity mate. I was looking forward to a nice night. I'll not make the other one with the rexies in Nov as I believe I'll be in Thailand for about a month until early Dec.

Better make it to the BBQ tho.

Man...that just plane sux.... i for one apologise to the guys trying to get these things organised for the rest of us, only to realise its a waste of your time.

Seriously, i cant see why people arent pumped about an event like this. A dinner/drinks with like mided individuals (every Friday night dinner and drinks with friends costs me well over $100, so i see it as cheap), a legend of motorsport coming along to speak...and a chance to see a certain SAU member in a pimping suit.

Sorry for the lack of support guys, i supose Gentleman Jim wont be coming to our BBQ

And for the record i didnt get an email either...

    • 12+ months passed so they have no obligation to do a warranty claim. It leaked from the rear circuit. Front circuit was fine, but I tried many times to bench-bleed and in-car bleed (wasted 1L of Penrite racing brake fluid) to no avail. Threw my old BM50 or whatever the standard R32 GT-R BMC is, brakes went back to normal. So from my very limited anecdotal experience, I cannot recommend HFM, even though a lot of their products looks good. Just my experience (I have a genuine Nissan BM57 in a box waiting to be installed now).
    • How dare you sell your unreliable Skyline and buy a reliable, Toyota/Yamaha car with a strong gearbox, torsen LSD and Toyota reliability. At least you won't need to worry about oil pumps, big catch can, oil restrictors, blowing off power steering belts, sheering off 3rd gear, failing ABS relays/pumps, etc.
    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
