Looks like a nice job.

Are there flutes on the intake runners (inside the plenum)? Just thought flutes would be a worthwile addition, prolly help smooth the flow into the runners and may help with top end power.

If I had the time/resources/interest to develop such a thing it would have two plenums 123-456 fed by two throttle valves . I believe it would stand a much better chance of even distribution over each set of three cylinders and halve the reversion problems . The 153624 order would draw from front back front back etc plenums . Engines such as the four cam twin plenum VG30 do it a bit like that though if memory serves me correctly they have a throttled balance pipe as well . The Porsche flat sixes have had separate plenums from the beginning . Difficult to package on a straight six Skyline but sometimes these things work . Nissan dualled everything else on the RB26 except the plenum and intercooler so who's will be the first ?

Cheers A .

I would not build a manifold based on looks. It is a large capacity plenum with large runners and TB because a ton of air is being moved through it. The runners are 51mm ID, and they taper down to the stock flange (this speeds up air vel.) which will be port matched to the ported head. The opening of each runner is radiused out to from 2" to 3.5" for max flow and smooth transition. This is not going on a street car.

Not sure if you're serious about the welds, but they're all sanded out. None are visible.

Our MA70 supra came with the 7M-GTE 3.0 turbo. We swapped it out in favor of the 1UZ.

You do realise that sanding welds smooth takes away a good portion of its strength? That material looks about 10-12mm thick in most places, you could have mig welded the whole thing, except where you welded the runners to the flange i guess you prob tig'd them on. or did youz tig the whole thing together??

Tig'd both inside and out. Same material and technique used on our fire truck parts (rated over 500 psi)

    • The car revs up through the gears much better/faster now, and fuel consumption doesn't really seem to have be affected either on a Hwy cruise, which wasn't expected  The FAB9 intake manifold has been problematic sourcing though, I've contacted Plasmaman to ask about their intake, which you can get different runner lengths spec'd, and, their different options for throttle bodies  The only real physical drawback with the Plasmaman intake is how to connect it to my current OEM style airbox, as FAB9 make a OEM style back half of the airbox to suit the larger diameter throttle body, and all that is required is a 30°bend silicone pipe to mate the throttle body to the airbox Car also goes in for some exhaust work in a week or so to fit the biggest resonator they can fit clearance wise in the front pipe to help remove some of the drone, there isn't alot of realestate under there, a rough guesstimation is it will only be about 3-400mm long and maybe 90-100mm diameter, and with a 60mm exhaust that doesn't leave alot of space for the internal volume of the resonator to do its thing I'm thinking I may need to bin the "high flow" 100 cell cat for something a bit more substantial, yeah, and restrictive, like a 200-400 cell, to help, but, I have ample room for a really large bodied cat to replace the current one which has around a 4" diameter body I may look around in the recycling bins and see if I can find a massive newish cat that was "replaced" with some new full exhaust system that the local exhaust shop in Western Sydney is doing
    • Hahah look at that smile 😂 Just like those ones on IG where they compare the husband in family photos vs husband going fishing lol. I don't think I'll participate this time, clutch isn't in and also the last time I went there were too many numpties on the cruise sessions. Nearly caused a few accidents holding up people and a few guys initiating massive kerb to kerb drifts with heaps of cars right behind them. Not to mention, there were guys on the track session using it as a power cruise session.
    • Is there an actual website thingie for peoples who don't have Facebooks? Cheers
    • All Jap Day is coming up again! 13th of July this year. Are you going? Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 6pm. Please let Quang know as well. https://m.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1163155775853542   I still get shit from my wife for this photo because it is the happiest she has ever seen me. And it's not with her, it's in someone else's car.   Quang's EVO is sick, but that rotary wagon flying past was absolutely bonkers.
