I agree with hicks ay, I dont think its age, it all comes down to road awareness and common sense, like I've only had my license for just over a year but I've had my license long enough to know I can drive better than like 75% of people on the road, most people just dont have a clue when it comes to driving ay

dont mean to brag or nuttin but thats just tha way I see it, I know when to be careful on the road or when theres an opportunity to have a bit of a thrash but yeah it comes down to being sensible and knowing the limits of ure car

I don't think it would be age...but I can't really say seeing as I'm the youngest here but I think its all to do with the attitude of the driver.

Anyone see that story Today Tonight ran about young people in high performance cars? They had 3 blokes with an S14, modded WRX and GTR. It sorta proves what phat25t said...."it comes down to being sensible and knowing the limits of ure car"

I've got a link to the story if anyone is interested.

i agree there aswell, some have more roadsense than others which can keep them out of trouble, but that doesnt mean they can handle a scary situation.

You may think your a good driver but when it comes down to it, most people panic and lock it up.

I use to be like everyone else thinking I was a top notch driver, doing this and doing and getting away with it, but when it comes down to the crunch in a scary situation this wasn't the case.

I try to race at MC +max action every month now to help improve my driving..

BTW, everyone get your asses into gear and race at the PRO-MAX challenge.. get some skylines in there and show everyone what they and YOU can do.. panzy's :D

Shaun

I partially agree with the comments regarding age where there is more chance of them losing control but attitude has the most to do with it. There are some older d#ckheads out there who couldn't drive a shopping trolley.

Makes me jealous though the age of some of you guys having Skylines as I am 34 and only just got one. Started out with a Ford Escort then a Corolla !!! Sports and performance cars were only but dreams in the mid 80's.

Good to see some of you though are 25 plus - doesn't make me feel so bad being so old

I don't think age has a lot to do with it. Don't get me wrong, a fresh P plater is obviously more likely to crash, but I don't think you can say a 20 year old is a worse driver compared to a 30 year old, just because the 30 year old has had more driving time under his belt. I think you can drive or you can't. And as far as i've seen, on all the cruises, most people here seem to handle there car pretty nicely.

My 2c.

Although most of the youngies here would argued that age does not matter, and it comes down to the driver's ability and common sense.

Well having turn 30 recently I have to disagree :D. In general, young male driver between 18-25 age group have the highest fatality rate of all age groups. Why is it that insurance company won't insure people less than 25 yr old, and if they do, the premium is so high ??

I think at this age people tend to take MORE risk and coupled with the inexperience driver behind a high powered car you’ve got a nasty combination. I don’t know why people tend to take more risk at this age, and mellowed out when they get older, perhaps because the testosterone stop flowing as you get older, or perhaps losing your hair stops you from going out and impressing the ladies or perhaps you just realized you're just a human being and accepted your own frailty..

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
