Hey eveyone,

Well I'm going to get my car resprayed soon, so I was just wondering if there are any websites with different colours that you can use, or if anyone has some pics of nice colours?

I'm basically after something that stands out, wouldn't mind those wet look, metallic, or two-tone paints (chameleon)

Thanks,

Ali

Should give you some idea.  Hope you have deep pockets though :(

haha......Dad does.

Plus im so over the Gun Metal Grey.........the "GTR" colour.

Assuming you own a GTR, I would go for the R34 Millenium Jade colour. Tough but attractive colour.

Anyway that's my opinion - good luck with the choice and respray! :(

Thanks for the link lwells.

Millenium Jade looks immac! But not my cup of tea.

For a while i was thinking midnight purple 3......but now i'm indecisive.

I really like the chameleon paints.....but all my mates keep telling me that it has been done to death......

Thanks for the input!

Midnight purple pearl III is an amazing colour and very rare. I believe only about 400 cars were made in that colour and there is probably only a couple of real examples in Australia. It stands out but not in the same way some flashy lime green paint would.

Saw an R32 GT-R in Japan that was "Windsor Blue" with a very small amount of Pearl Metallic Flec through it and had two Black GT stipes ( about 6" wide each ) from the rear edge of the boot lid to the front edge of the bonnet. It had a set of Black Nismo LM wheels on it and I literally could not drag myself away from it for 20 minutes !!!!! If I had the $'s I'd do mine that way in a heart beat !!!!!!

Sounds good.....got any pics? lol

I'm dying to see some pics, before I walk into a paint shop.

Didn't have a camera with me at the time cause that day we were doing an "UP Garage" crawl and saw it in some town about 2.5hrs out of Osaka ( where my camera was ). I can't even tell you what the name of the town was cause I was so obsessed with buying parts  Even if I had a picture, there's no way it could do that paint job / scheme justice !!! It just stopped everyone in their tracks !! Sorry I can't be more help

I just had my car resprayed in Dupont its a very good paint i would recomend finding a panel better that used this paint and give them a call and they could show you some colour charts mines black with blue pearl looks good and isn't too expencive

that purple is hot...

but that midnight purple color (if its the 1 im thinking of), looks incredible..

i agree that chameleon paints are everywhere now, but this 1 in particular still stands out

    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
    • I don't care for these at all, but at least the underside looks straight and not rusty. A good basis for a long life. Many cars from Japan have been lifted with forklifts and f**ked almost irrepairably.
    • Yes, but it's not dumb or dodgy. You can build a perfectly good boost controller from a pressure reg, a relief valve (looks same same as a reg if all from Norgren or SMC, for example) and a check valve. I ran one for years. Only superceded with  EBC because I could get one for cheaps and wanted finer control.   THis mod is certainly not a sketchy boost mod, provided the boost is kept below the "spin to death" threshold of the turbos.
