What AFR's did your mate get and the difference? mine are a safe 12 - 12.1

ben , my mate left croydon with around 12:1 and ended up at sas with 12.7:1.

to be honest he hasnt had a problem . we actually rang jim at dart late yesterday afternoon about this . he said he has built quite a few 400 + kw gtr engines that have been aggressively tuned by croydon and refuse to give up . he believes it all comes down to how sensible the driver is . he told us he has built around 85 gtr engines in the last 5 years and many of the ones that came in blown up were only making around 250kw with 11.5 :1 mixtures , but were driven as if they were stolen . we're looking forward to visiting dart and meeting jim.

on the CRD graph the AFR is 12.4:1?

Richard, no its not... its sitting 1 division below the 12.5 that is 12, and it bounces along there on the line or 1 pixel above....

Yep, that is what Jim told me also.... he certainly can build a beautiful RB26 that is for sure! I get knocks of 12 most drives, and on the dyno it saw 17-20 at full tilt...

I can't wait till blitz and Marko have run their engines in, as they are or have recently had a DART built motor....

600hp so what did you end up making? maybe a run on DART's dyno for you also?

and yeah thats balls....

"Screw the power...707NM!!!

NOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

no de-rate there baby!!! full charge :)

hahaha you were reading my mind!!! I saw you reading the posts, and wrote the above prior to your message.....

Jim @ DART is a great guy, I am certain you could do a power run for only a few $$$$ as a side note he mentioned to me that he was looking at charging $150 per hour dyno time, and that was for just anyone off the street....

I am sure if you mention my car, and SAU he will come to a nice number for you :)

it is well worth the chat with him regardless....

Stace or Paul i can see you guys reading this thread we shlould all organise a BIG Dyno day CRD or DART at the end of the year and see what everyones cars are puting out.

It would be good getting 20 or so GTR's all with different set up and some the same just see what the mods make.

well I put my money on MARKO with DART motor :)

and no RB2X allowed!!! 26 only or no fair :D

I'm going to have to call CRD Jim on monday also, and tell him how it is going on the mountian roads of Adelaide...

Your not scared of a few little gtst's running on the dyno aswell are you ;) ? be easier to get the numbers for a dyno day if you let them in, I'm sure they don't mind it not being fair you being RB26 and all

The GTRs regularly taken to the track to be thrashed - how do they get tuned? Do you have to specify it'll be a track warrior then get a lower peak KW?

I'm confused I thought that unless the car was pure dyno queen it'd be tuned to give and take punishment??

    • Yes the gear for the R33/34 is different, it is red and has a different number of teeth. My part didn't come with that gear though, so I don't know how many teeth are on the red one. You'd have to reuse the 260RS/R33 gear, as long as it's not destroyed.   Haha, as unfortunate as that might be it was working fine for about the first 1500km I've had the car for now.
    • Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.
    • Where is the warning "That this thread is super old"   I just went into a 5 year old thread, went to do a reply, and couldn't see anywhere obvious a warning of it being super old
    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.
