Nar, i have like 3G atm, then im hoping for like 3 or less for me car.

I want a new car, as i wish to go faster, and im interested in R32's...

I predicted, that by start of Feb next year, if i sell me car, i should have about 10G (with me current job)....i could get a 5G loan of me parents maybe?? and get like a 14G R32 Skyline??

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

thanks

have you thought about insurance, stamp duty, rego?

If you are clearing $300per week, pending your living status and what your out goings are you should be able to borrow $15k roughly over a long term.

doubt it josh, im on just over $400 a week after expenses and i cant even get $10k loan and that was applied for over 7 years.

have you thought about insurance, stamp duty, rego?

Yep, sure, its a biatch, but im reasonably good at saving.... so say i had 10G got 5G of parents, 15G total... get like a 13500-14000 R32 then id have like 1000-1500G for like expenses such as that mentioned....(plus my earnings)

thanks for ur tips ay (keep em rollin' in), you guys hav really made me think about the whole loan thing... ill c how it all goes...

thanks.....MaTT

dont go thru banks go thru an actual finance company who will apply to creditors for u they will try make u look as attractive as possible to be a client...if your earning a garunteed 400 a week and have had the job for a year or more u shouldnt have any trouble provided car is newer the than 6yrs old and you have 30%deposit for the vehicle...

okay, I'm 21, and looking to buy my first Skyline. I've driven a few R32 gtr's, and I'm hooked. I applied for a loan through a very well known finance company, and they said they are not interested, unless It's a post 97 car, and they wont lend me more than 15k. they took a couple of day's to come to that decision, but, from reading other posts here, it would appear to be a standard response to young ppl wanting a loan.

incidentally, my job/pay is not an issue. i'm being paid plenty enough to keep up repayments, and i have about 30% deposit, it's just my first loan, so they are a bit hesitant.

that all being said, I wont even bother approaching the very well known finance company, or any subsidiary of that company again.

Ouch, banks have got more hursh nowadays. My example was based on a few mates, but I guess intrest rates an such have changed since then.

im not saying josh is lying at all, but i have tried with ANZ, Suncorp, Commonwealth and Aussie loans and i have struggled to get $10k

QTCU has just got back to me saying they can give me about $8k

Benji, Wespac > Personal loan > Teh cash $$

well lucky me ;), i have till june to save man.. but yeah, me and acle are in the same situation.. except he has a headstart and a car.. yes.. i dont have a car.. my thinking is i want a decent car for my 1st, and i dont want my money to go more into maintenance then mods/petrol.. fkn petrol.. but yeah, any help would be great (as has the posts so far, thnx guys)

Most finance companies and banks will not provide finance for an import these days. At all.

The reason is that when you are younger, the only security they have on a loan to you is the car itself. Import cars depreciate heavily and they are very hard to on-sell. So they basically see an import as too much risk should you default on your loan.

In this case at best they will loan you 30-40% of the cars current value.

personal loans are easy to get, i know from experience, doesnt matter how old you are, if you make enough money with in the ratio of earnings to expenses you'll get the loan. Alternatively call someone such as Aussie Auto Loans and they can usually go the extra yard to get you a loan...I know because my dad owns the finance company...and the regulations aren't nearly stict enough for personal loans and/or auto loans, do an online app if you want and you may be suprised. Commonwealth is usually the easiest to get through with and they also have around the best rate.

Having said this dont risk getting a loan unless your confident you can pay it back.

Good Luck to whoever's interested.

Matt

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
