Mate I'm only going on what I have heard in the pits at super series rounds. I didnt think it could make THAT much of a difference but apparently it does. Some interesting chat at the last round about splitters and rear wings. I'll report back here when I've givin it a lash.

from everything i've read the front splitter increases front end downforce by a huge amount increasing front end grip for better turn in and mid corner front end response, couple this with a balanced rear wing and it'll increase mid corner speeds dramatically.

ideally, if you go over the top and create a full under car splitter ending with rear diffuser you will see even more gains ;) front end grip always seems to be a weak point for skylines (well gtst's anyways ive noticed) so i guess anything you can do to help is good!

what info did you get from the pits jack? keen to learn more.

i belive that there is a particular amount that the difuser should rais by as it goes inwards of the car. to grate and it wont work. but to make it work regardless you really need to have a full flat floor.

regardless of if they work or not they look tuff in my opinion.

well, actually its a bit of a lie because part of the info came from someone I know who is a regular track warrior in nsw. the diamensions/surface area etc and how much the splitter protrudes past the bar etc but what I was told looked to be very very simular to what I saw on nunn's and sheriff's cars - well proven beasties

however, I didnt bust out the measuring tape and spirit level lol, otherwise I may have had a race boot lodged up my arse.

I know that some of the cars I have seen on the mainland run a small lip, gurney flap type thing at the front of the splitter and the splitter appears to be paralell with the ground apart from that, and I recall one of the 32's down here have a simular design, not 100% sure tho.

because ally is flexible, and the way i intend to mount it (at the rear), i'm hoping to be able to adjust the angle quite easily. also, the turnbuckles actaully do have adjustment on the front, around 10mm actually so I will have a few options to play with. at the moment, the car is undergoing other tweaks (bilsteins instead of shitheap Teins, different sway bars, few odd things here and there), so I will maybe wait till I have a fresh set of semi's on it once i've stopped playing with the rest and i'll spend a day or 5 playing with angles and also rear wing angles/gurney flap. At the end of the day its trial and error I guess the rules remain the same but every car is different but hey thats the fun of datsun ownership =D

really, its not like i'm setting out to win superlap or anything lol, its just a bit of fun and if i feel improvments and I can go faster then yay, if not oh well. keep trying haha

yiew, remsa pads ordered from gsl rallysport

apparently they are better than the hpx's but not as agressive as the ar1m's

got a set of fronts coming for the stagea and the corolla :)

i also added some urethane goo to the front engine mount on the corolla ninja.gif super-dodgy fix ftw!

Will shortly be looking for a S13, S14, 180sx, R32 2 door or 4 door, or a cefiro shell on the cheap for a street registered play toy to put my RB in. Not fussed bout rolling or front ends as I will bolt all my skyline gear straight on. Needs to be straight, complied, registered or within 3 month period, and if not a R32 4 door shell then interior will help ;)

Oh god...and my parents call me bad if I have a daily, a toy, and a shell lol. I got tax back already so I think I should avoid mixing alchohol and cars for sale or I might do a repeat of your weekend efforts  Already bought a full clear light set for the S13 out of tax money :whistling:

Looks pretty good Jack..

I know alot of the guys in the states that add front aero have to re-support the front bar. Or support the front splitter seperately to the front bar. Maybe somthing to look into?

only , r34 , r33 , r32 and a el falcon , and a troopy and the 32 shell and the a31 shell oh and the purple a31 :whistling::blush:

No HQ race car anymore??

That's awsome Toff... simply awsome... I should bring my missus round to your garage to see that 'my' addiction, isn't THAT bad.. ha ha ha.

zip ties mate, she'll be rite lol. yeah Until I test it obviously I wont know how much bracing/extra bracing it will need.

Small update for me is a I found a steering rack and cross member thanks to Ti (will get onto getting it picked up asap :D ) so once I've got them infront of me I can start nutting out fitting power steering into the 32 and finally get the motor position right.

Oh and change the suspension over (thanks again to Ti :D ) so I can nut out wheel arches and brake set up clearance. Seeing as this is the first year I will actually get a tax return for sometime I thought Id use it wisely but then I had a rethink and decided to blow it on the car...

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
