:D Really bad luck today, stoping in front of a traffic light, and a diskhead just straight smashed on my back bumper of R33, what a heart acctack!

jumped out of the car and went to the back ,only can see few paint crack. but that guy really smashed on the back and even pushed car for one metre away. carefully checked car i can tell the left side bumper bar have been pushed in a bit, and the boot seemed been puched up and you can see a little space between it and the middle part where the text "skyline" is. but that guy still arguing, said it's nothing, just the paint work. ye,from outside ,i only can see few paint crack, but i really can't tell what's happened behind the bumper and what else i will say i need to check if i go to that guy's friend who is doin smash repair.

any ideas i need to know about it,so i will know what should be repaired? thanks guys. i need ur help!

we are goin to his friend's smashed repair to check the car cause he doesn't want to touch his insurance and save money,so we will go have a look first, what kind of thin should i know before i go check my car?

Have you got insurance? Up to you but if he's saying it's nothing, I'd consider just getting insurance to sort it, just in case it gets messy. You're not in it to save HIM money..

Watch out, you don't want to get screwed over. I'd say get it checked out by an independent repairer (ie not his mate). If he's already claiming it's not much chances are his mate may say similar.

thanks guys, for sure i will ask other smash repairs to tell the damage and get a quote, but i will go tomorrow the first thing and meet da guy and his friend's work shop.i don't want get screwed over so i need to know what the things have behind da bumper, and what questions should i ask to beat them down?

What a pain in the arse this guy IS. Its his fault not yours you owe him NOTHING, If you go to his "mate" I bet you they try to tell you a load of shite, give you a quick (read shitty) repair job that replaces nothing that should be replaced and a paint job from Hell. You've got a high performance sports car, dont mess with it, keep it in top trim. You have 24 hrs to report an accident do it NOW insurance will love you.

your going to have alot more damage than you think.

my gtr got hit in the arse and didnt even take paint off but pop the boot and it had pushed the beaver panel in 8'' and folded the boot floor in. go through insurance as my car cost $3000 to fix and i dont think this guy will wont to cough that much money up, good luck.

lol i cant beleive you agreed to go to his mates repair shop. as if he's gonna do a proper job and make the guy that hit you (his mate) pay for what really needs to be done

he doesnt want to go through insurance? too bad.

 Really bad luck today, stoping in front of a traffic light, and a diskhead just straight smashed on my back bumper of R33, what a heart acctack!

Dude are you dumb or pretending? Do you have any insurance (if not then u are dumb) contact them, make sure you have all the other guy's details and let them deal with it. Finished.

YES YOU CAN

It's HIS fault, and if you call you're insurer, they will handle it for you.

DO NOT use his mate. I repeat. DO NOT use his mate.

Most Third party insurers will handle a not at fault claim for you. Otherwise, find a panel shop that will do it all for you, including billing the other driver and taking him to court if he doesn't want to pay.

once agian, DO NOT allow his mate to fix it, because they WILL fark it up.

BASS OUT

yeah man don't use his mate.........thats one of the stupidest comments i have ever heard(no offence buddy) but it's his mate offcourse he isn't going to want his mate to pay heep so he WILL cover up allot of shit that needs to be done.........man go insurence who gives a S*#$ about him HE HIT YOU thats his own problem mate.

He hit you. Who cares how much it is all going to cost? It's going to be out of his pocket. As mentioned earlier 3rd party insurance should still be able to cover you if you are not at fault. The insurance company will get repaid by the other guys insurance company. If the other guy doesnt have insurance, DEFINITELY go through your insurance or else it will be a pain in the ass.

Oh, and don't go anywhere near his mates workshop. You seem to have been easily pursuaded to do things his way so far, so you really don't want to get in a situation where the two of them can push you around. You are in control of this situation since you were not at fault.

Why is it that when ever you get hit by someone who's 100% at fault they always have some (dodgy) 'mate' who's good at smash repairs? I've heard this kind of story many times before. I could even say that my Dad is good at smash repairs; he fixed my old Corolla when it rolled down my drive way and into a tree (very lucky the tree was there!) And he did a really good job of it too! Wish I had a mate in 'professional' smash repairs!

"They taste like burning!"

Mate you are the biggest idiot ever.. Why are u going to his friends repairer?? Are you STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If u got third party, its fine, cause its his fault!! not yours..

OMG if u go thru this, i hope you never get your car fixed properly lol..

Thats why insurance is for!! DOH!!!!!!! third party will cover it.. unless stated otherwise in your contract ..

MEh..

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
