how much would it cost to have a 3l rb30 block reco'd and dropped onto the bottom of the rb25, i think it may be possible for $1000 ish. depdnds on how much labour you can do yourself but that will certainly increase power everywhere and give good cains

because they believe marking crap or have money to burn?

there may be some gains by using individual throttle bodies but $1000+ worth? surely you can get more power gains overall by spending the $1000 better ways

as i said above, its not a power gain but a responds gain. Also each to there own, the thread is asking about plenum upgrades not if he should spend 1k on a plenum or other mods.

and "making crap", thats ur own Opinion, doesnt mean its correct

again just my 2cents

cheers michael

Im personally in the process of having a GReddy plenum fitted. the main reason to justify this:

stock plenum/piping positioning look shitty and dodgy and are a major headache to move everytime you wish to change plugs or get under them.

i think for that reason alone it is worth the $1000

OK did a bit of research...and it seems that its not Blitz that make these kits but Ricoh Racing..

here is the translated link...

halfway down the page it says in broken english that the CPU will have to be reprogrammed or something...this shouldnt be a problem with the power fc right ?

This is the style of pipework we use a lot on RB25's when using a cross flow (non return) style of intercooler. We have seen 265 rwkw using this pipework, which is getting close to my rule of thunmb limit for an internally standard RB25DET (ie; 450 bhp)

This is a Zeni Tani built RB25DET with similar pipework and a high mount turbo, before it left Japan it made 500 ps. So there is plenty of flow in the standard RB25DET plenum and inlet manifold.

:D cheers :D

PS; all of these designs are based on the Gibson R31 GTSR, which was the first I had seen and it obviously worked.

go team rice...

and are a major headache to move everytime you wish to change plugs or get under them.

it's like 5 minutes and handfull of bolts and clamps.

you need more practice my young apprentice..

anyway, how does that style piping work for the neo with that big arse second throttle type thing?

none of those pics seem to have it..

or is that the TCS that was mentioned?

there may be plenty of flow, but imagine what the engine would do with a better flowing plenum. of course it will continue to flow if yu keep on throwing more boost at it, but at what stage does it become less restrictive than a aftermarket plenum is the question that no-one can answer.........yet

its just like changing a intercooler, the stock one might go alright, but imagine what you would do with a decent cooler.

and for $ i am charging i definately not running a workshop. i work from my small double garage in my villa and clock up some serious k's to get everything done right by the best people at the right price.

you would be surprised how much time and money i spend on my plenums, especially considering how much they sell for. people are always telling me to put the prices up, but i have resisted for the time being.

Having seen your work and prices I am looking forward to getting one of your plenums for my RB25 s13 and one for my old mans supra.

On the s13, you need to change the plenum to shut the bonnet.......

p.s Ariel, I will sort payment out soon and send runners over from the uk

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
