Gb: R33 Gts-t And Gtr And R34 Gtt Radiator Guides

Recommended Posts

Hey ppls.

As many of you may already know, I seem to be the Radiator guide king.

I've just drawn up the R33 GTR and R33 GTS-T Radiator guides to be made from Aircraft Grade 1.0mm Aluminum.

They will be of the same high quality as my R34 GTT guides and will cost pretty much the same.

I'm bending up the prototypes in the next week or so, but would like to get an idea of numbers of how many people would like them.

The price will be close enough to $80 + Freight, but the more people, the merrier.

SO, Who's in?

id be in.... question though, how they normally come with the hole for the bonnet latch can u make one thats flush like no gaps for the latch since i dont have mine anyway?

ben...

Is there a thread or perhaps you can tell me yourself:

What are the benefits of such guides?

Is there a real-world difference?

Is there a quantitative performance increase (eg dyno/400m times)?

Edited by Wink

Okay,

What the air guide does is stops the air from going through your grill and up over the top of your radiator.

It forces air through the radiator and increases the cooling capacity of your radiator.

Also, it looks cool and gives you somewhere to put stickers.

Hey Bass.Do they sit good on aftermarket front bars.

My bar is aftermarket and the headlight is missing the plastic mounts that the stock grille usually sits on.And because of that there really is no place for the front of the deflector to sit.

Would it be easy to make a mount for one of these myself??

answers

They bolt onto the radiator support panel, so there's no real problem with aftermarket front bars.

My experience with the R34 GTT, is that the brs are very similar with only slight differnces between the stock and aftermarket bars.

Nothing a quick blast with an angle grinder or a hand file can't fix.

I have designs currently for R34 GTT with Nismo, stock and aftermarket front bars.

I have designs for R33 GTS-T and GTR

I have not yet got R32 or R31 bars.

These I will look at soon.

Oh, and you need to tell me what model of car you have and whether you have stock or aftermarket front bars.

So like, R33 GTS-T SII stock bar.

or R33 GTR series III stock bar.

Cheers

Pete

what are the differences between your product and the UAS one or are they equivalent?

also, if there is enough interest would you be interested in making a guide that goes the whole length of the engine bay? ie covers the tops of the headlights as well. i'll try and dig up a pic if you're not sure what i mean. it may be too much mucking around to make it though.

Thanks

Greg

Yep, they will be equivalent or better to the UAS. I'll make them as best I can.

Greg. I've thought about making the extended version, but doing it in Aluminum will be very trickey, and difficult/expensive to send. Making it from say FRP or Carbon Fibre isn't what I'm into. Although I know it can be done this way, I'm no expert in it.

There isn't much airflow benefit in doing it that way, but it sure looks good!!

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
