Well if you feel you must charge but I think it's a bit rude to pay to watch a bunch of amateurs in street cars run timed laps.

I would be too embarrassed to expect my friends to pay to watch me so if there is going to be a charge can you let me know so I can tell them not to bother.

If the 20 entrants are covering the costs why charge spectators?

MC Motorsport days and Sprint series is free to watch and more entertaining.

Sorry , but I really feel you will kill this event this way.

hello my name is jai and i am the organiser of this event, brett who you

have been speaking to, works for me. now i have silently sat back and

watched as you abuse the night that we have spent hours working on.

but now i feel that it is going to far. for starters you go on like your

racing? but who are you? and have i seen your money? i dont think so.

the night is about people having fun and learing to race their own car

around a very challenging track at night. it gives them the opertunity to

see how they compare against similar cars, older cars and newer cars.

they may be new to racing or have done it for years, it is unfair to call

them amatuers, they are enthusiasts.

i dont believe it is rude to charge an entry fee. and only $5 i might add.

not $10 like the drifting. or $15 like wed night drags. 20 people DOES NOT

cover costs. 30 people DOES NOT cover costs.

clearly you have no idea and are clearly dreaming. people like you will sit

on forums all day long and bag out events like this because you dont have

the balls to stand up and participate. honestly i dont want you there with

that attitude. but im more than happy to invite YOUR friends to come and

watch.

Sorry Jai, I dont think R34 was abusing the night (and neither was I), it was just about the fact that spectators we may have told or invited have to pay.... which I'm sure wouldn't be an issue for them, maybe slightly unexpected though.

Also, I spose we wouldn't know the cost of the night in total, but if 20 people paying $150 doesn't cover charges we are grateful the rest of the cost has been made up or sacrificed

:)

I have been informed that track hire and insurance is $4000 alone just to give you some idea.

I do hope everyone turns up for this event as it is looking to be a top night with the selection of cars that we have on our list.

As a reminder, there will be a bbq food and cold drinks available on the night and that alcohol is not permitted...

Thanks for the clarification Brett.

I was under the impression that 20 people were required to break even. Now I know that not to be the case I stand corrected and apologise.

I did defend your fees early on in this post as others were complaining about the charge whereas I was appreciative of the work involved in making this work.

My issue was the costs charged to spectators but if this is factored in to break even then that is fine by me.

And now to answer Mr Jai <_<

That's ok, we aren't out to pissoff the car community. We're just trying to give them an opportunity to use their vehicles in the manner that they were meant to be used, but legally.

OK Jai

Firstly your not even a member of this forum to be handing out insults such as your uninformed ramblings above.

So Pull your head in and calm down.

Secondly let me state that you have $75 of mine sitting in your account.

So yes you should "think so".

Secondly I only just received my car from Japan and am not really ready to track it yet but when the event was in danger of not going ahead I made a promise to you that if you got to 19 entrants I would be the 20th. When you emailed me the money was in your account within 10 minutes even though I may not enter the event.

But I will pay the balance anyway...why?? because I gave you my word and that is of great importance to me.

I am dissappointed that you chose to grandstand on these forums rather than contact me directly and discuss my concerns like adults.

Now if me and my attitude are not the suitable I shall comply with your request and not come should an apology from you not be forthcoming.

Oh and finally on not having the balls to stand up and compete?

Who am I ?

I have

-Competed at state level in Rallying for 13 seasons

-Nationally seeded driver

-Nissan/Datsun club champion

-CAMS appointed official

-Autocross winner

-State motorkana class champion for 4 consecutive years

-Winner of numerous Hillclimbs

-Competitor in the Wanneroo 5 hour.

-Competitor in several Tarmac events

-Podium finish first ever Navigation Rally (as the Navigator)

-Still a self confessed amature.

And heaps of other events I haven't got time to list as I do not sit on the internet all day.

But I will post a pic of my trophy cabinet tonight as well if you like.

The remainder of my entry fee has now be transfered to your account but as I type this I'm just getting angrier.

I'm paid up but don't know if I will turn up if this is typical of your attitude. I'm there for fun and the love of the sport. If there is bad blood it ceases to be fun.

Wow...

Hope my Credentials are OK for the event as all I have is a 25metre Breast stoke swimming certificate from Primary school :)

Anyway....If its only the short track, I wonder whether its worth disconnecting the ECU 180kmh Speed limiter?

I still think it will hit it..... :P

any more info as this event is tomorrow and i havent received much about it.

do we pay the remainder at the gate? to someone inside (if its someone inside then do we also get charged entry fee? )

aaaaaaand such n such.

thanks

Shaun

Crap!! Hitting 180kph on the short track ?

You guys have got me running scared now :D

I have the limiter in place too but never gave it a thought as there is no way my poor NA will get to those speeds

Look forward to seeing you there :D

    • For these last 7 years of ownership, I've always had to use a small scissor jack under one of the front tow hooks to raise the front just enough so my low-profile jack fits under to reach my subframe jack point. I'm beginning to get annoyed of always having to do this. Are there any lower low-profile jacks that fit under the gtr lip on a dropped car?
    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
