You have left it too late unless you are going to wait for the 15 year old rule and would have to buy b4 about May cos after that, you will be paying more for a 89 than what a 92 is worth now , along with the extra mileage etc that comes with it.

Govt allows cars to come in that are over 15 yrs old without having to got thru the compliance process.

Still have to make it roadworty but nowhere near as expensive and any car , and some trucks etc can come in.

ie. currently any 1988 built or earlier car is allowed in ( even LHD )

For example you can bring in NOW 1988 GQ patrols out of Japan as long as the dereg and chassis no. concurs that it was built in 1988.

Which is why the price of 1988 safaris has jumped to about 20% more than a 1989 /1990 of equivalent spec.

The 89 GTR will do the same shortly.

One thing to remember about the 15year rule is that there is no statuatory requirement to provide a warranty with it, and those after-market warranties are worth dick.

Just need to be aware.

I am hanging on this 15 year rule. But so is everyone else :-(

I think this will keep the prices as high as they are now.

Nah, if you don't have to compliy the cars there is $2000 saved already, plus no warranties, another $1000, so I expect that these cars will be a fair bit cheaper, but they will be 15years old, so don't believe the 60K on the clock.

Err ,prolly higher cos Canada is hanging out for the 15yr old GTR's and there buck is better than our peso
