Farewell.......well For A Year Anyway!

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Just wanted to write a quick thread to say goodbye to those I missed at the last meet. Over the last couple of years I have been lucky enough to get suitable work in my industry here in Melbourne, but as of next week I'm relocating with my family to Perth for around a year.

About 5 years ago I imported my skyline, and being extremely passionate about owning it as well as wanting to meet like minded people, I joined SAU. Since being a member when SAU Vic was properly setup over a year ago, I have met a great bunch of people who are not only passionate about their cars but reject the 'usual' sterotype that other clubs tend to attract. Knowing that this club is based on such a great group of people I'm sure the following year will see it grow even more and I look forward to seeing some new faces on the vic tracks in '07 ;)

I will try an hop on the forums as much as I can while away to catch up with everyone but without knowing how Perth will be setup, I’m not sure how often that will be. So until Natalie, Zack and myself see you again in '07 I'd like to thank you all for your friendships and I'll look forward to returning to the Vic tracks after gaining some experience in WA (all I'll be thinking in Perth "...gotta get back to the island.....gotta get back to the island..."

Take care,

-Ant

Best of luck over there mate. We are looking at Perth next year for a long weekend so will look you guys up. Big shock you are going mate but keep in touch and will definately see you over the next year at some point. ;)

Good luck over in Perth Ant.

Don't stay in the sun too long and watch out for dem crazy WA Sandgropers. I hear they bite!!

Keep in touch. Hey!! Post up a journal when you can. It'd be great to see some photos of you terrorising Perth!

Thanks for all your wishs guys & gals.

Nark....Will def catch up when back in Melb but until then enjoy married/engaged life and look after Josie :mrt:

West...enjoy the tracks in '06 and hopefully I'll be a little faster when I come back as I'm looking at doing some track time in WA

Saff.....Looks like we might have a spare room in Perth depending on the exact acomm arrangements so let us know when you are thinking of heading over!

Dezz....hehehe that would be pretty cool and yes I might as well get the WA tag......never know in a few years I might have the whole set :(

Matt...thanks mate - keep tracking the R34 and look forward to seeing it in a year or so with even more mods!

Thanks mate. Looking to use up lots of frequent flyers next year so Perth is on the cards. Gold Coast in Feb and UK in May so most likely later in the year around Sept time I would have thought.

Thanks for the offer and all the best to all 3 of you B)

Greg...thanks mate and say goodbye to your old man for me.

Bec...Thanks heaps for making my dinner last night and I feel very special considering u missed drinks for me  A big cheers to Al for organizing on very short notice - with those skills he should be the social coord for SAU!!

Leewah....Cheers mate. Actually I'm more concerned about Blaize moving back to Perth and leading me astray than the Sandgropers biting!!! Its all good and maybe we can start a WA team wang group while we are there. I'll be sure to post the pics of any damage we cause to Perth :(

Ant - Best of luck champ. Best wishes to Nat and Zack too.

Don't get settled over there, as I'm gonna need someone to run door handles with :)

Keep the car off the walls and the Family safe.

Cheers

Scott

    • Dear folks My family members have 4 different cars : Triton 2015 and Corolla 2011 and Mazda3 2012 and Hyundai Elantra 2014 Looking to buy engine oil funnel spill free What I found are are below  https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BBTTJNKX?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image&th=1 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/145553221359?srsltid=AfmBOoqYBU6Ptw0LU_bAp_k67U3qkF97HHvePkA7iHZw8vUmiwoIRaRr https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09X23TCS5?th=1 Is there a funnel with attachment that fits most cars ? Don't mind to spend for a decent quality  Thx
    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
