I am going to be buying the best , most flowing airfilter this week before new years. So any input on what is the best please let me know.

I spoke to a engineer at harrod and he said it is the new BMC filter made in Italy.

What you think? Some people say dont get oiled air filters.. so that means the blitz airfilter?

any inputs?

Yeah I remember that story, wish I'd have seen it before I brought my HKS one two years ago. The Apexi one definetely sounds like the goods. Haven't heard anything on those BMC filters though.

"They have the internet on computers now?"

Apexi Power Intake.

Nothing else will be better.

Sorry but you are wrong.

I have spoken to the Harrod engineer and he laughed at the Apexi one, he has had complaints from them saying they are terrible compared to the BMC.

I just want to know another brand of filter that is as good... justbecause its apexi doesnt mean anything.. it is probably made in china also.

I recently bought 2 apexi pods, and they are excellent! good induction sound too Personally i think if you have a japanese car, i think the japanese tuners would know what they are doing with their cars more than an italian company making filters for italian cars, and apexi pods r made in japan :)

:D When it comes to flow rates and particle trapping through a filter, how does the country of origin make a difference? Its not like you can "tune" a filter for certain engine characteristics, and even if you do its not like A'PEXi releases different filters for different engines.

The only difference in the kits for specific engines will be the adaptor bits, not the filter itself.

You ask for an opinion on what is the best filter, someone gives their advice and your telling them their wrong...err have i missed something here.... Your mate, the engineer seems to know best so use that, i would appear your just going to cut down anyone that suggests something other than the BMC filter

Complete waste of thread, sorry to be harsh but the reality is this is a waste of space.

No, you are wrong and your "engineer" at "Harrod" is just trying to sell his crappy product.

But I guess this thread is pointless now because FAST-GT-R is banned now anyway.

I personally use a K&N Inverted POD. I've read a lot about high HP cars using hem with good results. Plus I like the idea of a wet serviceable filter. Just my 2c =) (Don't forget a heat shield!)

Wet filter will screw up your AFM.

    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
