  1. what i heard from someone in japan is that Tomei stuff are made in taiwan? was recommended to use Jun Auto stuff if i wanted something of higher quality.... but i think Tomei is good enuff... i had full tomei parts in my SR20 and it had about 400hp/500nm safely..
  2. for turbocharged exhaust systems, scavenging effect is less critical i believe... thus designers usually just want straight pipes with minimal bends... thus they usually point sideways near the rear of the car... as for the internals of the muffler... most aftermarket ones are straight thru with steel wool etc... totally unlike ur OEM designs... which are misaligned /disjointed pipes with tons of sound deadening stuff in the middle...
  3. yes... technically they dont call it a turbo muffler just a muffler suited for turbo applications... also less restriction the better in general BUT I believe for NA cars, the exhaust system is more critical as in, they plan for the bends, lengths etc to encourage a better scavenging effect since the pressure of the gases leaving the cylinders is not as pressurized as a turbocharged car. this is probably why when u put ur hand at the exhaust opening (when its not so hot), u can feel the gases coming out in pulses.. at least thats wat i have read so far...
  4. to the best of my knowledge...a muffler for NA would be smaller in diameter and more restrictive compared to one for a turbo application. besides why would u use a NA muffler on a turbo car?
  5. To the OP... if the chassis is as bad as u make it out to be... then braces may not work. a case of being "pound foolish penny wise" ? if its really THAT bad, maybe u shd take a long hard in-depth look and figure out the problem before spending $$ on cheap braces. although cheap, they are not free and costs will add up eventually...plus... it sounds kinda unsafe to drive in if it flexes that much...
  6. actually once the engine is warmed up, there isnt a need for a thermostat when u are on the track. in case it might impede the flow plus... if the thermostat jammed... u'd have a problem. happened to me before..
  7. LOL then it has to be really utter crap how bout other electric fans? the Billion one seems fine... or there's an american brand as well.... cant rem the name i was using a japanese branded fan on my S13.. temps were exactly how i wanted them every time.
  8. u can try those Pro filters from brands like Earls or Russell Performance... they use stainless steel meshes that are washable...u can even select the mesh filtration size
  9. maybe the gktech fan is turning in the wrong direction or has the blades mixed up. so instead of pulling in air thru the radiator.. its pushing it.
  10. not sure if do-luck has it for your car but maybe u can get some ideas? they have this brace along the length of the car... made of aluminium. called the floor support bar. http://www.do-luck.com/tuningparts/assistbar/floorsupportbar/index.html then there is the rear cross bar that sits behind the front seats to prevent mid chassis flex... worked wonders for my S13 then. u can even tension it. http://www.do-luck.com/tuningparts/assistbar/rearcrossbar/index.html also, nismo has something for the GTR... again, maybe it might give u some ideas? under floor reinforcing bar http://www.nismo.co.jp/en/products/competition/lb/reinforcing.html
  11. plastidip it... that way if u dont like it...u can always peel it off...
  12. but just to add... if u get a reputable broker like Iron Chef... they have guys in japan to check out the car in the metal for u... engine, trans etc... even take a vid or 2 for u... so u can hear the car idle...
  13. looks good mate... esp the black on silver
  14. technically speaking... usb 2.0 output has 5V 1A... so it should charge the tablet
