  1. Nah it was driven in as a full road and did it's business, apparently. Yeah clearly it's going to be more responsive due to being a 4litre, but the 7175 will be laggier than the EFR9180 on the 4litre too - much as the 9180 would be more responsive on the RB. As you well know (I think!?) a smaller turbo is going to need to work harder to work well on a 4litre - if anything the RB should be more flattering for a comparison between how the two perform, so if it does that kind of result on a Barra then it's VERY impressive to me.
  2. I meant the turbo itself I don't know of anyone on the forum having a Kando fail
  3. Oh yeah of course, the Falcon is better setup for a quicker time - what I was getting at is its still a bigger heavier car with a smaller more responsive turbo and still traps at similar speeds... so for all intents and purposes probably putting out similar power to the PT7175 despite being only a 67mm turbo with response as it's focus! I have been well impressed with that result for a fair while, now - could argue the guy with PT7175 could pull that turbo off and put the EFR9180 on and have equal or better everything?!
  4. Yep that clearly isn't an EFR, and is a big frame Precision so kinda in no way comparable. Interestingly enough the Falcon running the 9180 ran a slightly quicker time with a similar trap speed, though... which is pretty impressive considering the weight! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fa-9q9VHocQ
  5. Thanks, man - appreciated On the off chance you see if Garrett have displays of the GTW range that'd be interesting as well, but I know that's probably "out of your way" as such. The more I hear of specifics the less excited about that I am, however.
  6. Any pics or info possible on the new BW variable geometry turbine housings, and SX-E turbos if they are going to have any of that? Also a Falcon in Oz did mid/low 9s with an EFR9180.
  7. 92 octane? Which country are you in? I'd probably go with the 7064 if I were you.
  8. Wow looking awesome! And man yeah, that setup with a ViPEC would be pretty much getting into my perfect road car territory (possible with AWD, as even then traction loss would be a thing haha). Cheers for the update
  9. I don't know for sure what the story is there, I have seen ones where the 6258 comes on quicker but either way I do know and have before seen dyno plots which don't represent what happens in the real world - at least in terms of response. Might investigate but either way I see no reason in going smaller than a 6758 as a single turbo on something aftermarket
  10. Still, getting pretty close! Possibility it may be nearly running around the new year, you reckon? It's going to be a hell of a grumpy road car combo
  11. Sounds like Bri73y's custom Kelfords work nicely
  12. I believe you misread, it was idot, I'm guessing he is referring to some kind of Apple product.
  13. That's awesome, that's good to know Bri73y - I guess I should have figured that! Yours obviously performs really well, too - goes some way to explaining why it has such an awesome power delivery. Impulse-NL, the lack of VCT won't hurt the power... it's how early it all comes in is where the benefit lies
  14. Any reason you didn't go for the Pon Cams? Be good to see how the Kelfords go for you
  15. Sounds like an awesome setup! Kelford are awesome, I'd put them on anything except an RB25 - nfi why they don't do a VCT cam for them... my only guess is they don't sell enough for those motors to justify the R&D
  16. Roughly 1,000,000 going by Borg Warner's claims for them - they are beyond the Garrett GT3076R/HKS 3037s in flow rating, which used to be strictly "Pro GTR" type territory in the good old days of Japan drag racing. Serious serious business, so that lag isn't that surprising and realistically actually pretty impressive given what would have happened if you wound the boost up to 11. Not really ideal on a 2.6litre circuit car though!
  17. Precision have the >1000hp turbos pretty nicely tied up I think.
  18. Come on lads - google knows everything EFR7670, EFR8374, EFR9180: EFR8374 dimensions: EFR9180 dimensions etc: What is interesting is they don't say how big the compressor cover is "across" - but it looks bigger, though the 9180 also seems shorter... if anything. Odd.
  19. Read SimonR32's thread on Kando turbos - there are masses of examples. There looks like there is probably an issue with the setup on this one.
  20. The will be a very interesting comparison! You have the 250s, I assume? Assuming similar turbine housings I'm going to lean towards the 6266 making the bigger numbers with a touch more lag
  21. Good luck, man - hope it goes a bit more to target this time. You have a decent stiff actuator etc eh?
  22. Totally not worth it if you haven't done much engine work - you'll gain a few hp at best.
