the 2510 may not be that expensive to get rebuilt. call a few places and get prices. Don't change exhaust housings on the GT28RS. you will change the flow chararistics of the turbo. I Think by the time you get a new dump, oil and water lines and adapter plate and elbow it will cost more to go the GT28RS than getting a 2530. I would go the 2530. I really wanted one but did not want to spend that much on a turbo. I ended up getting a sliding performance hiflow. I havent put it on yet but will keep you posted with the results. I am expecting a reasonable ammount of lag compared to a 2530 but I quite like off boost driving for the street. If I were in your shoes if it costs less than $1000 have yours rebuilt. If it is over that sell it and get the 2530.

R32 Gt-r In-situ Airconditioner Windings Removal
CEF11E replied to lwells's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
fantastic writeup. I have just bought a seized compressor and taken the windings out of it to put in mine. if they need rewinding it's all good at least it will save me from pulling the car apart twice. You were not kidding about the circlips being a bitch. And also the pulley was REALLY tight on the compressor I pulled apart. it took several bashes to remove it. I am a bit worried about having to do all of this while the compressor is on the car as it was hard enough when it was off the car Does anyone know how maky ohms the windings are supposed to measure? The set I just pulled out measured 3.5 Ohms. If I need to I will have them redone but if they are supposed to be close to 3.5 I may not have to get them rewound. Thanks -
There is a really interesting read about them HERE

Diff Replacement Options.
CEF11E replied to CEF11E's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Will do, I have spoken to sss automotive and they have a R200 with 3x2 half shafts that will bolt into my car but at this stage they do not know wether it is a 1, 1.5, or 2 way or what brand it is. they want $700 for it. I might get them to find out exactly what's in it and if it's a 1.5 way kaaz/nismo I will take it or does $700 sound too much for a 2nd hand diff. -
Any Pics Of A Black 32 With Black Rims With Crome Dish
CEF11E replied to anyone's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Agreed. cheap wheels are for cheap cars. If you drive a turbocharged import you need good quality wheels -

I have seen many cheap brands of rims fracture on the spokes from normal driving after less than 3 months. trust me dude get some decent rims There was a really nice lexus that ended up as scrap metal after the front right wheel folded in half going round a corner doing less than 60kmph. lexus cost $94,000 insurance company would not pay out as it was faulty non approved modification that was deemed to cause the accident. -
walbro will be fine up to 200rwkw anything over get the bosch, they really arne't that hard to fit. but if you are going to use the bosch you will probably need to run direct feed from the battery as the current draw is a lot higher than the stocker and may blow the fuse (it did in my car) Cheers

the 20 and 25 manifolds are the same and will support power up to 250rwkw. some even say 300rwkw. if you are aiming above and beond that get a decent one like the ones GCG sell. don't get a nasty china copy manifold the stainless quality is pretty low and they go purple and crack! Really depends what sort of turbo you plan to run

Wobbling Steering Wheel
CEF11E replied to InterCooL's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
before you spend another cent swap all 4 wheels with another set even if you have to beg borrow steal them just to test the car. wheels are the largest ammount of rotating mass and will be the easiest/cheapest thing to fix/diagnose. cheers -
I currently have an R32 gts that has had an RB20det put in it. The gearbox is also RB20DET. but the diff feels like a single spinner it will allways spin the inside rear wheel and when jacked up the wheels spin in opposite directions confirming it in not an LSD. I have had a look at it and it has 6 bolt half shafts. (3 x 2) bolts. it also has a 4 bolt finned rear cover is it a GTS diff or has it already been converted to GTST? Are R32GTST diffs 6 bolt half shafts or five? I think a factory lsd in good nick will be good enough for my needs, so I need to know what sort of diff will bolt up. I would prefer doing this to taking the centre out and putting a new centre in my housing as I will be putting it in myself and I dont have good or big enough sockets to go pulling crown wheels off. Can someone list what sort of diffs will fit? Will a GTR mechanical diff fit? Thanks!

Hey all, As usual I have left this to the last min. I am going to be putting a new hiflow turbo and some GTR injectors in the R32 this weekend and would really like to be able to check duty cycle and stuff once the good bits go on. + will be getting it dynoed as soon as all the new goodies go on. So If I had gotten off my ass quicker and ordered a consult cable it would have been good If anyone has one they would not mind lending me for a week I would be greatful. Cheers!

What sort of times can be expected with a fairly stock R32 or R33? I don't want to get there and be shamed by a mx5 or mr2 with good handling.

Get in contact with www.justjap.com they sell new rb26's they have a complete N1 engine for $15k at the moment. cheers

Sunday arvo at 2:00 spotted a chick in a white R33 being fulleh sic and boosting down northbourne av towards civic in the middle lane. She changed into the left lane while on the gas. There was a car pulling into one of the hotels these and the almost smacked into the back of it. To top it off she beeped her horn like it was the dude in front of her's fault. Very silly move.

Tiff's R32 Gtst Conversion To R32 Gts25t
CEF11E replied to Squishy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I am thinking of doing the same conversion but will hold out for some of the results. I wonder how much boost you can safely run with 10:1 CR and how much timing you will have to pull out. 230rwkw and some torque is what I am after. I have everything already on the 20 and the turbo on the way. I am just missing some displacement -
hehe No, drivers comment was funny I found it funny anyway. I will still help the guy out if he wants any info

Hey champ, we are happy to discuss your mods if you can give us a clear idea of exactly what you want to know. If you have fitted a gt28r on an RB20 you are not an idiot as it would take some engineering to fit it. tell us what sort of power it is making, when it makes boost and how you went about fitting it. I am interested in your results, but I find it hard to understand txtish so if you can use something close to english that would be great.

He will be going to jail and taking it in the PHWOOA. at least that is some kind of justice.
