  1. Thank you for the info Johnny, I'll see how mine goes but I believe I'll go the solid state relay unless there is some other way I should do it.
  2. TURBO! TURBO! TURBO! TURBO! Turbo arrived today
  3. After seeing some information in another post it looks like I'll have to alter this relay setup. The relay won't be happy with the power its getting so I may have to run a solid state relay to energize the coil of the pump relay which I installed. That or bypass the standard ECU control altogether which I really don't want to do.
  4. Jesus - I didn't think it was that bad. Guess I may have to go this route. Scotty, what are most people currently doing with their bigger pumps? The solid state relay or bypassing the ECU operation all together?
  5. Finished the wiring for the new pump tonight. It needs to be tidied up a bit but it works, looks reasonably neat etc etc etc I made a video of the "Angry Fuel Pump Mod" and some pics are below also Ran out of cable sleeving Anyway, Tomorrow I'll get neck deep in fuel (30L or so) and swap out the fuel pump.
  6. Hmm, What you did is pretty much what I did. My thoughts were this though (tell me if I'm understanding it wrong) Walbro would have never run such thin wire to the pump itself if they thought it would be a massive problem or that it couldn't handle it. Hell, they have 16 gauge from the pump to the plug it comes with. I have read at full tilt on E85 the pump will draw 19A (not sure if thats correct though). I selected 25A automotive power wire, relay and a 30A fuse.
  7. I never knew about this! It would have been so much easier to do this. I got a Walbro 400 E85 pump so I thought it necessary to do this. Is it still fine to do it either way?
  8. Booked in my tune with JEM for about two months from now which gives me heaps of time to get all the work I need to get done sorted. I agreed that they will do the tune, AFM and the Injectors for me. I've left a bit in the kitty to cover me for any custom work I want them to do or any "Fix Ups" I started doing my fuel pump rewire tonight but am yet to finish as I need to do the pump change at the same time.. Using Cal's post from a while back.
  9. This is what I am using today - From Cal in an old post from a few years back. Looks simple to follow and I've done most of it in under 30 minutes. I need to change the pump so I'm procrastinating about changing the pump and finishing the wiring.
  10. Yep I missed it. Thats why I said it's not needed any more. Plez no lektur
  11. Search function does wonders. Please disregard this thread
  12. Hi All, I have been unable to drive my car for a little over three months now - It was started every week or so though. Since I haven't been able to drive it, the fuel has been unused and really just sitting around in the tank. Is it worth draining the tank and filling it with fresh fuel or will the three month old fuel be fine? FWIW the fuel is 98 Thank you!
  13. Yep grab a pair of long nose or better yet bent long nose and wiggle it behind it if you can and start undoing it. One of my cross member bolts are the same had to do it like this to get it out.
  14. The latter I hope!
  15. Agreed - The drivers side is a bit fiddly but not as bad as the WRX I just did it on also.
  16. 90 Degree 2" to 2.5" Reducer BOV HFM Big Bore Slave The shiny bits - I'm so happy with the intake pipe. Scott even gave me the silicon joiners and other silicone hoses needed. Turbo is confirmed to be delivered on Thursday and I'll order some more stuff tonight.
  17. Hi mate, link below http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/234796-re-wiring-your-fuel-pump/page-2 Should help - I'm about to do mine this weekend.
  18. Any updates on this Sarge?
  19. Apparently more packages arrived for me today at work. I've been on holidays so I'll be picking them up late tonight I would assume its my care package from eBay, Scotty and Stao. Updates soon
  20. I'm 100% in as per my PM. Mine got shredded when my fan belt snapped earlier this year. Just another thing to dress it up a bit.
  21. You learn something new every day
  22. Can someone explain the overfilling the oil part? Is this to reduce issues with oil being shifted around in the sump?
  23. The new bushes are around $50 - No drama either way.
  24. Ordered manifold studs for the turbo today and a new clutch slave cylinder also. Both should be here early this week along with the turbo, BOV, etc etc etc
