  2. @ hks786 - what model skyline ?
  3. no mention of ECU so I assume it's stock. You've reset the ECU's or had them reset and checked for new codes without success I'm no mechanic so I end up taking my car to the shop to identify and rectify. after I provide as much info as I can. and yes if money is tight it's not easy I know. Just from what info supplied above gave me a suspicion it may be more transmission related. A tranny service wouldn't go astray for a few hunji dollars but could also not identify/fix issue. (3.8lt auto commies spin rears easily - hence bogans fav drug delivery vehicles)
  4. 1. Listen to Jez 2. Type of aftermarket ECU ? 3. Is there a reason it can not related to the Transmission, Transmissions ECU or Solenoid ? Keen on burnouts in a Stagea hey .......
  5. Hi Josh, Nothing to do with the Oil. Those Spark plugs at those settings should not cause the miss fire either. However reset the plug gap to 1.0 or 1.1 (greater the gap the greater the spark) Check the coilpacks. Perhaps removing the coilpacks (depending on age) may have unearthed a pre existing issue, minute crack, with one or more of them. If need be try to identify if any one of the coil packs is the issue. Was there any issues prior to changing plugs? or just doing maintenance ? check the gap of the old plugs too Do a search as there are many many threads on this subject.

  11. I wouldn't be worried about 60 knock at 6000rpm either. "i plan to baby the car for the next two years and save $ for a new engine". Good idea to plan for a rebuild. Read up on the well documented oil starvation issue caused by the short nose crank, crank collar, OEM oil pump and subsequent failure of Big end bearing/s. - Pre late 93 model R32 GTR's This post is not meant to cause you undue concern, but rather give you information so that your aware, if not already aware. Edit: my compression test came back at 154 to 155 across all 6 prior to when I bought my 92 GTR in 2004 at 104,000kms. Oil starvation and big end bearing failure within the first few months of ownership. I wasn't aware of this Achilles heel at the time. Oil pressure gave no indication prior to failure.
  12. Its still faster than my stock Tokyo taxi Props to you
  13. I like the single piece side piece. In my opinion it looks cleaner without the join.
  14. Just reading both posts above to see if what I said was in disagreement. I don't think so - although you've expanded on a shops point of view further. Which provides a balance. I'm not saying I agree with customers supplying parts. It's always best for ALL involved if the shop supplies the parts. True - "how much profit a workshop decides to put on parts is purely up to them". - "some workshops will charge hourly rates that are much higher than others" Bottom line: Get a quote and if your happy book your car in. If your not take it somewhere else. Quality and trustworthy shops get repeat business, also get new business from word of mouth. I know where I take my cars are a bit more expensive, and I'm ok with the that. The outcome is worth it. However, I don't like getting screwed over. Nobody does.
  15. I believe You need to be a named driver under her insurance policy. (ie. regular driver) Can't insure someone else's vehicle . Although if you do have an accident it could be the first time she's let you drive it fairly sure most policies cover the occasional driver
