  1. Some further info on sparkplugs for the S1 C34. According to both the NGK book for the R33GTS25(t) & my Stagea workshop manual the plugs should be NGK PFR5G-11's.
  2. Since upgrading my transmission cooler I've noticed that from cold it takes about 2km of city driving 'longer' before locking up 4th. This is an expected side-effect of the increased cooling capacity.
  3. Hey Greg, I heard you popped the aircon on the way back to Melbourne. That would have sucked.... I also heard that there was a 260RS in the carpark, who's was that?
  4. Check the build plate - it will say either RE401A or RE401B. The 'RC40' designation is the diff carrier & ratio. RC = IRS R200, 40 = ~4.0:1 (RB = IRS R180)
  5. If you can get the same wheel here - with the approval sticker on it, then you should only have to produce that as evidence of compliance. AFAIK there is no law against having a worn knob.... :-)
  6. Check the build plate - it should read RC43 (indicating an R200 with ~4.3:1 ratio)
  7. The Momo wheel should be ok, if it has the appropriate sticker on the back (like a price tag sticker with an approval number on it). The filter & BOV are technically modifications under ADR27C which makes them unlawful.
  8. As far as video standards are concerned, NTSC is used in Japan & Australia uses PAL. However, 99% of VCR's out there will play an NTSC tape fine. How else would I play my Best Motoring Video & listen to the S20 screaming at 8000rpm?
  9. Shannons, $23k agreed, ~$1000.
  10. Check the TPS adjustment. It sounds like the idle contact is staying closed at partial throttle openings.
  11. I should be able to dig some L20A info up for you. In the meantime, grab a copy of the MR30 electrical section from my webby at: http://www.versadev.com/ben/el.zip
  12. I've just fitted a 4.375:1 LSD to my DR30. Something I should have done long ago.... 3.90:1 is a little tall for city driving with the FJ20ET.
  13. I _think_ that the 18th digit (the last 'C') indicates ABS. But we really need someone who can read Japanese to translate it correctly.
  14. Guess what? I've got a complete L20A head (requires recon) just lying around. I've also got a welded, but otherwise bare N42, also lying around.... Still the RB20DET is a better way to do things. Actually, looking at your car in its 'before' state, I reckon I had a look at it in a car yard down south in around 1995!
  15. But it sounded so nice with the L28 in it! Yes, I've seen you around Adelaide - I own that red DR30 that was in front of you on North Terrace a few months back...
  16. I've just fitted a cooler from an R31 Ti. It measures 280x200x20, and is the same basic design as the DC cooler that SK used. I've mounted mine with the fittings at the top rather than the bottom, which means that it's slightly lower than SK's & I've therefore had to relocate the lower horn to just underneath the bonnet catch. This has also allowed me to use all the original rubber spacers - but the downside to this is slighly reduced area should I want to fit an FMIC... Still, I think it should do the trick.
  17. Ah yes, good Point Steve. You _may_ need to re-work the oil pickup and fit your L20A sump, depending on what donor your L28 comes from.
  18. Answer = yes All petrol L6's are externally identical. The diesel's are taller.
  19. A genuine full gasket set for a FJ20ET is around $400 new. Rings/bearings are comparable to most other Nissan engines. Pistons aren't cheap for anything, but as a comparison, we had to do a full rebuild on my sisters GTiR, and including new pistons the total for parts was less than $2000. Adam, if your local dealer won't play ball (and N.E. Nissan gave me the runaround for some simple 240Z & Stagea parts). Go to Grand Nissan - Terry or Boyd will get whatever you need. Tell 'em I sent you....
  20. The guard GT badges I have are the same as the R30 Ti ones (blue/white) as opposed to the red/white ones in: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...achmentid=28672 The GT boot badge is the same script as the RS turbo badges (uppercase), but funnily enough, only has 2 letters: GT! :-P Sounds like a deal Dennis, I'll throw in the boot badge too. Expect a PM when I find them (currently stashed in shed somethere)!
  21. Stag vs RX7 SIV turbo = winner (even with all the windows down & A/C on....). I don't think I'd take on an XR6T though - I leave those duties for my Z. The 4WD factor is fantastic, you can really take off without attracting any attention at all!
  22. I have 2 brand new GT guard badges & a boot badge that I was going to fit on my MR30 at one stage. All the RS badges are still available, one day I'll get a new set (or stickers) for my DR as the original ones are pretty faded.
  23. FWIW The LD28 models were known as the 280D GT-L & 280D GT-X, with the GT-L being available in Sedan & Hatchback. There is no mention in my Japanese brochures of a 2.8L coupe at all.
