  1. Hey mate, If it's in excellent condition I'm after the clock and the plastic surround that sits under the steering wheel. If you've got it PM me price to sydney. cheers Bobby
  2. haha, Yeah the N1 definitely stays with me Chubbs. Once i do the Silvia if anything it will be going to 100% stock. Stereo out, stock exhaust back on, remove the Brembo's, standard 32 wheels etc etc. My sisters boyfriend is a big Silvia fan and wanted a drift car, but he's done a drift day and got bored after a few hours so I've convinced him to do a track car together. Just waiting for them to move into their new place so we have garage space and then it's go. It'll be the definition of a track pig, no door trims no nothing. We will probably lean towards ripping out the dash and all, and have nothing but a tacho and a couple of warning gauges. The plan is to do supersprints and club trackdays for now. Running gear will be pretty much stock, and the focus will be brakes and suspension.
  3. I love my GTR and really enjoy giving it a bit of a squirt on the track. BUT it's always in the back of my mind, to take it easy in case something happens. That's why I've pretty much decided to do a non registered S13 track car. Simply an SR20, strip absolutely everything out of it. Decent suspension and brakes and away we go. The way i see it, selling off all the interior should pay for close to half the car so it should work out less than $10k when all is said and done.
  4. Did someone say N1? But it would take a lot more than $25k to pry it out of my hands.
  5. Being new tracks mate, the govt's of both countries would be paying big dollars to get any form of motorsport on the tracks to promote the track and the country. They go for the largest form of motorsport from each country and in turn get a huge TV audience in said country. Kinda like advertising. Another example is the Japan GT in malaysia coming up. Have seen footage of a few rounds of the series held at Sepang and other than a small portion of people in the main grandstand it's empty! But they go back every year.
  6. I just find it a bit odd, especially since it was updated only a few years back. and they were all happy with it. Have the cars become that much quicker, has the track deteriated that badly over the last couple of years? My conspiracy theory brain also says, sighting saftey issues is a very easy way to pull the race without him looking like a pr!ck. "There's no way known we could do a new contract without having those safety upgrades put in place," Cochrane said.
  7. Here we go again. Cochrunt is now threatening to pull Symmons Plains off the V8 calendar. Article says it's related to saftey issues which must be met for the v8's to go back, as well as Tassie gov subsidising travel for all teams. You read the article and to be honest it doesn't sound to unrealistic for him to ask these things, but in the back of my mind i wonder if it's just another stop in his march to shut down all forms of motorsport other than the taxi's by denying essential money's to yet another permanent circuit. Or am i reading too much into it JAMES BRESNEHAN May 26, 2009 08:05am TASMANIA will lose its biggest sporting event next year if the State Government cannot guarantee funding for V8 Supercars. V8 officials say the Government will need to guarantee safety upgrades to Symmons Plains and travel subsidies for the 19 V8 Supercar teams. Officials and the Government will meet this weekend to try to work out an extension to the five-year deal that expires next year. V8 boss Tony Cochrane said yesterday the cost of travelling to Tasmania was double that of taking the supercars to most other Australian rounds. But the deal-breaker would be an unwillingness by the Government to commit to improving track safety at Tasmania's 2.4km supercar circuit. "There's no way known we could do a new contract without having those safety upgrades put in place," Cochrane said. "I don't want to get into the specific details, I'll leave that for the discussion next week." The Australian Vee Eight Supercar Company committee has compiled a report on safety issues at Symmons Plains -- as it does with all championship tracks -- which will be presented at the meeting. Body: "We would want a guarantee of those safety issues being addressed to strike any new contract," Cochrane said. The cost of staging the Tasmanian round was magnified by the Bass Strait crossing. "That's for two reasons," Cochrane said. "The teams' trucks are tied up for an enormous amount of time because they have to wait, then cross, and wait to come back. "The second aspect is the crossing costs, the expense of shipping all of the equipment and all the costs associated [with being] away for extra time. It all adds up." The Government was aware of those expenses. "Symmons Plains is an important part of the Tasmanian calendar, after all, it does deliver the biggest weekend sporting event to Tasmania each year," Cochrane said. Last year, 28,171 attended the main race day (Sunday) and 59,892 over the three days -- slightly up on the previous year's turnout of 59,785. "In a perfect world we all want to see Tassie stay on the calendar," Cochrane said. "Our guys have put quite a bit of effort into trying to ascertain what sort of deal we would need to move forward into the future." The supercars abandoned Symmons Plains after the 1999 race meeting and returned in 2004 after the State Government spent millions upgrading the track. "They have invested some money there -- no question it's a lot better," Cochrane said. "But it's not just for the benefit of us. "We are the catalyst for circuits to be improved and upgraded, but safety changes . . . help every other person using that track for the 51 weeks we are not there." This weekend's meeting will decide the future of the supercar series in Tasmania. "We enjoy the fact that we go to every state of Australia and that's important to us," Cochrane said.

lol - Love it. Pure logic at it's finest!!
  9. Monthly revival Does anyone have any hi res pics of the 1990 ATCC Nissan GTR? The one in the below pic.
  10. EXACTLY! A friend who builds trailers had a cust come in for a 20grand trailer cause his current one was stolen. It was built, bought and picked up by the customer. 3 weeks later he pops back in saying mate just found my trailer can you take this one back and give me my money back! He even sent people over to threaten him. I can't farken believe the nerve of some people.
  11. And now for something a little different, I'm going to be trying the one linked below, which is designed for the iphone. I don't doubt that it won't be as accurate as a dedictaed timer, but should be fine for someone like me who goes to the track a couple of times a year. If it works! And for $5 I'm willing to take that risk :-) http://web.me.com/hschlangmann/LapTimer_Ho...8iPhone%29.html
  12. bahahahahahaha Surely you're joking re car of the year?
  13. The India cars that i have seen are very different in that they have very small engines and are really only suitable to throwing a couple of grocery bags in the back and putting around a CBD like area. The cars coming out of China on the other hand are more sized like the sedans we currently see. There uses are a mirror of what we Aussies currently use cars for. So it makes sense why a) we would see them here, and b) why they would sell. You've gotta remember as well that not everyone buys a car because of it's features/build/performance. Some people really don't give a crap and literally buy something to get them from here to there and more so something as cheap as possible. And if you think this is wrong, please explain the existance of the Holden Camira :-)
  14. No need for yet another thread on this. Please search this has been discussed over and over again.
  15. chubbs did Stu make it? How's the LS1 going?
  16. Went past it yesterday on the way home. Was on Lane Cove road south bound. Looked like a fairly stockish R34. Was pretty much all but over when i got there. couldn't figure out why the car was leaning in the front left hand corner, why pretty much lanes all around the intersection where blocked off, until i heard later on the radio what had happened. The boy apparantly was just walking along the footpath and the wheel had just come off and hit the kid. Hope he's ok!!!
  17. Fark me that's one seriously now second hand N1.
  18. Good luck today Stu! Hope all goes well.
  19. Yep rub out the cartoonist! Better than last season, but i still cringed on a regular basis. Bet part though is someone finally taught them how to film a lap of their circuit. Skaify was gold when he gave him the first lap time. He looked like he was about to kick him in the nads.
  20. It would have to given the extra weight, or would that be compensated for by a reduced fuel useage during KERSage? Massa's problem was with the actuall refueling though in that they thought all the fuel that was supposed to go in the car did, but it actually hadn't which they found out through the weight of the car. (Which apprantly is done at the end of each pit stop) which is why they knew way before the last few laps that he was short. I don't think it was a useage miscalculation.
  21. A few people have mentioned Webber's move on Alonso and i think that summed up his effort and also the lack of Vettel's. Webber, plain and simple new he had to get around Alonso to be in the hunt, and did not give up, and pulled off what was a farking brilliant move. Vettel again as others have said was behind Massa all race and didn't. Personally I'm a big hater of the Webber hysteria anytime he finishes anywhere in the top ten, but that move was gold and i think summed up his wanting to win. In this race, that "want" was more than Vettel. Now to move on, how serious does everyon think Toyota's and even Ferrari's threats are to leave if they don't get their way with the spending caps?
  22. Wow, that is a bit warm. I found a second hand TRUST kit for around the $350 mark. It bolted up first go on my 32, and at the Wakefield track day the temps barely got over 90degrees. What kind of driving do you do to get around the 100degree mark? Is that just putting around town, or really getting stuck into it?
  23. Generally most twin plate kits will come with a lightened flywheel, which is different to the dual mass stock items. The dual mass flywheels dampen the noise and vibrations.
  24. I'm officially out as well! Eugen from last week at Wakie is coming in my place though.
  25. This picture will tell two distinct stories. 1) What really happened 2) What I'll tell the grand kids
