  1. I dont think the injection phase angle is available in the datalogit software from memory although I dont have the software in front of me. Usually the injection phase angle isn't that critical and most times you will not even notice a change in fuelling with +/-30 deg phase movement from the optimal injection angle even at the most critical rpm point. Once you start loosing nice injector spray patterns and decresed combustion efficiency with less dynamic engines the optimal phase angles can be within +/-100degs. So worrying about 20deg VCT injection phase adjustment is pointless IMO.
  2. The AAC doesn't allow air enough for proper anti lag - your talking 40degrees retard to get boost at idle plus you want at least 2000-2500rpm if not more. I would be selecting another ecu as well - something that has a proven track record in group N - like Autronic or Motec. You really want closed loop boost control as well - to limit overboost. A "throttle kicker" maybe the best way as you only need a small change in tps to get a large change in airflow when you have 6 tb's.
  3. Still seen big hp RB26's split blocks with ATI balancers.
  4. And is there any data to suggest the secondary moments are being reduced when compared to std balancers?
  5. Cant really see drag car guys even the top end guys testing the effectivness its effectiveness.
  6. I've got to ask why are people going to the ATI balancer over the std balancer? I cant find any information on ati's website about its benefit other than how pretty they look. Whats the difference between the 600hp and the 1000hp other than the label on the box?
  7. Turbulence around turbo charger intakes allmost allways affects power in a negative way. I'm not saying that a proper cold air setup doesn't help but you need to let the turbo to draw the air in and align the air with the impeller. You could just put a pod on the the intlet of the turbo.
  8. Before you do anything drastic pull the oil filter off and open it up with a tin opener or chisel and look for bearing materials -little specs of copper coloured material. Next I would do comp and leak down check to make sure you havnt delaminated a piston crown. If all is healthy then it may have shrunk a skirt - but it's not a common problem on these engines.
  9. Definately too small - will overload reg at low loads. Use a pressure switch to turn the secondary 044 on at high boost and you won't have any issues with pumps overheating or fuel pressure problems.
  10. Turbosmart regs are absolue crap(have seen issues on 8 out of 8 cars I have seen them on) not sure about aeromoive!! Sard, nismo and std regs are fine.
  11. As a matter of fact I hate the wanker BOV noise too - but thats just me. Answering your question thought the BEST bov for your application that will reduce surge is without doubt a $50 plastic bosch BOV - Not sure why Porsche use them in theirr GT2's or why BMW use them in the 335ci's maybe because they open with about 12" of vacuum as a proper BOV should. You could just leave your fully hektic wanker valve on there to pull the chicks and then use an addtional bosch valve to do what a BOV is meant to do.
  12. Firing Order:1-5-3-6-2-4 As has been said: #1 inj driver to injectors 1 and 6 #2 inj driver to injectors 2 and 5 #3 inj driver to injectors 3 and 4 Not usre where you getting you advice from but I would cease listening to that person.
  13. Better atomisation means better fuel usage. I bet those injectors would make the exact same power.
  14. What racefuel? I've tuned some big hp, 25psi plus xr6t on vp109 and E85 and I can tell you that you can definately find the detonation threshold on VP109 where e85 you could just keep putting timing in with no knock what so ever.
  15. Catalytic converters are a part that wear's over time, they can still totally be intact and not offer any benefit in reducing emmissions CO and HC - I think the maximum life expectancy is around the 150000k mark. What you need to get is a Euro IV emmissions cat off like a BF XR6T. I would also try as has been suggested hotter plugs with a larger gap - at least 1.1mm and make sure the ignition timing is not overly advanced.
  16. Its probably used for baro corections - so disconnecting may make it revert to a preset value - possible see level. Cant see that it would make that much difference to AFR unless your driving under water!!
  17. Such a good point - its the BF onwards triangular shaped cats that will flow 300rwkw the BA's are a bit crap. We have trouble getting 4" 200 cells to flow over 500rwhp the 100cell will go another 50-75 before running out - thats on the XR's anyways.
  18. Change you cals by using a BSFC = 0.54 for pump 98Oct and BSFC=0.6 for E85 - this is closer to the money for most 4vavle RB's. BSFC=0.6 on pump98 is like V6 two valve donkey motor efficiency!!!
  19. I've seen the symptom on various windows based haltechs. Its an accellartion enrichment error that cannot be tuned out. Have seen the issue on constant throttle with acceleration enrichment turned off - if you scope it you will notice asyncronous pulses with a random amount of pulses and pulsewidths. Have sent the scoped data to haltech on two different cars - they havn't been able to sort the issue! You will also notice that the pulses dont show up in the logs as an accelleration enrichment value.
  20. For another $500 you can get an SM4 - then you could have rev limiters based on oil pressure or oil temp or EGT or whatever the f**k you want!!! And after a few years of tuning you get a pretty good idea (after looking at IAT location) what the charge temp correction table will look like - so yes it is possible to tune IAT correction in 1 day.
  21. The 02-03B4 TT run 440cc Injectors.
  22. 7hours to tune a microtech - WOW!!!
  23. The EJ25 yellow top side feeds are 550cc. Plus they are multi orifice. They would be my choice for a around 340rwkw on pump if they fit.
  24. f**k thats alot of power for a single pump - is it making that power on pump fuel? An 044 will only flow 3.3L/min at 5bar.
  25. I see what you saying but - I think you would find alot more response with a proper BOV and the boost reference where I said. It also becomes a vacuum leak when using a bleed style boost controller.
