  1. there is a formula for working out the wastegate size correctly
  2. the powerfc kit has a distinct advantage over the other units in that it enables boost correction on the maps so it can back out timing, add in extra injection based on boost levels and so forth (if setup correctly) it also is displayed on the hand controller but i dont see why the pfc boost kit wont work - a fair few people use it
  3. this will depend on what motor you have if your car came with stock pink label AFM its series 2 and you can only use series 2 (pink afm's) if its blue or green then its a series 1 engine and you can use r32 AFM fine (as its the same unit)
  4. its on the ninemsn.com.au homepage
  5. send your busted turbo to gcg.com.au pay 2k and it comes back hiflowed with steel wheels
  6. no you dont have to have SAU stickers on your car - its optional
  7. we can see here where hks place the turbochargers on the map of power vs repsonse its obvious the 28xx series makes more power, but has a little less response this is from the 2006 HKS catalogue
  8. more boost only means more power whilst the compressor is in its effiency zone or island on the compressor map once you go past that island zone you get mininmal gains per PSI increase the lower the boost the better if you can make 250rwkw on 8psi or 250rwkw on 16psi i know which i would prefer but that doent mean to fit a GT40 so you can run 8psi and make that power so its a balance of power and resposne - but lower boost is better less heat, less stress, less expensive components etc
  9. depends on the wheel and trim - might not be efficient past 1 bar
  10. let us know when finalised - will add to faq
  11. i think everyone saw thizzle's figure and went yeah ill make 300rwkw no problems then there was the onslaught of the gt-rs for rb25 uptake and everyone has fallen short i think the typical max from the gt-rs is spot on 250rwkw, i haven't seen many go over? i thnk the 28 series is more likely to go into 270-280rwkw
  12. when you get a working list / set ill add em to the pfc faq
  13. i think disco posted it somewhere else, not sure what thread the gt-rs is aimed at the 2 litre and the 28xx series is for the 2.5 so this would yield the 2835pros as the most suitable

  16. if you have something useful to say please post it - otherwise stop trolling ive removed bout 1.5 pages of junk posts
  17. with the haltech and its in map sensor style what happens when you hit max boost does load on the 3d map change ?
  18. average power makes a car fast - i would be looking at which turbo has the better average power curve id say the 2835pros 0.87 on rb25 would have the best average power
  19. sounds confusing but here goes; the map sensor (single input vac line) needs its signal past the turbocharger, so not near the airflow meter on the stock setup there is a vac line behind the plenum, this line runs to the factory boost guage map sensor you can unplug that and run that vac line to the AVCR map sensor (should be 3 wires and 1 vac line) now that you have working manifold pressure signal you need to hook up the actuator (or boost solenoid) this is the AVCR solenoid which has COM and PORT. the input signal needs to come from the manifold, usually there is a nipple on the std intercooler piping for this this connects up to the solenoid and then the output of the solenoid runs to the turbo actuator. if you get this wrong it will run in unlimited boost so either way the factory boost guage or watch the boost display on the AVCR if its wrong it will fly past 1gkcm2 - this can be fatal
  20. where are you located? if you dont know much about them ask some local from the club to come and check out the car with you this has been done in the past and can be very effective - post up where you are, someone may come and help for a slab of beer or some grog etc
  21. that sounds like user stupidity rather than a bad product to me if you use the hand controller correctly its great
  22. try stock ecu reset too easy and takes 5 minutes
