  1. no worries. also curious what version of rb26 pfc you have, under ETC, VERSION?
  2. Guys, Its has been discussed over and over, theres nothing more left to cover really. No more comments please. We will discuss it tongiht at our commitee meeting.
  3. yeah sorry i worded it wrong. meant to say richer. im not sure what ecu it was, but we were thinking the powerfc had the same problem and was possibly lagged in the lower gears. i havent seen any evidence, more just a thought
  4. Hi All, Am posting this based on something cubes has discovered whilst reading some tuning material. He found that some ecu's tend to have the AFRS (tuned in) vary based on what gear is used. Ie: have a range of cells set to say 12.1 AFR and then when done and tuned in 4th its fine. When a subsequent run is done in 3rd or 2nd the AFRS vary slightly and could be leaner, say 11.8 It is envisaged that the ecu is looking at the previous snapshot of sensors and deciding injection amounts but when this is happening in real time in low gears it happens a lot quicker and thus, the ECU typically lags. The outcome is that the AFRS to lend to sway a little as its always looking at the previous set of numbers instead of predictive load checking, ie: check thats its on WOT and predict the load and precalculate the injection coming up. Ive had some thoughts regarding this and the only way I would agree with it would be to see a dyno plot of AFRS side by side with both gears and a show of the map tracer plots showing the same block of cells were hit. it sounds like to me its simply a case of some alternate cells are being hit in the lower gears, as load varies compared to 4th. The main source of comments was found on another forum here -> http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/forums/...read.php?t=4109 Has anyone else heard similar comments or seen similar results? I've never checked my AFRS in other gears. Cubes deserves all the credit, im just posting it up for discussion
  5. he turned 50 and runs his own towing business (pretty sure). dr drift is in contact with him and he sometimes posts on here. havent seen him at an event for a while
  6. ive got the usual bolt on crap pfc 3" split dump exhaut boost controller fmic fuel pump heavy duty cluctch for those saying the r34 smic is ok for drags, have you done testing to see what the in and out temp is on the core? ie: is it actually doing anything useful to 60deg temp air passing through it. i wouldn't expect a great deal of airflow to it, air usually takes the path of least resistance.
  7. who is "you guys"
  8. moving on, where are the main pictures for this event? and what was ran at deca? i am keen to see how it went
  9. its certainly likely that its a case of hitting some cells that have too much ignition timing. the faq shows you how to make sure that is the case, then offers advice on how to fix those cells or you can take it to your tuner. if you take it to your tuner you should inform him of rpm, engine load, and if possible a spot where it is on the map tracer, this will help them debug it much quicker and fix it. dont go the braindead dial the cas back to fix it, like some tuners do
  10. interesting so you can drive it and it progressively gets worse? what battery voltage like when this is going on? what does sensor SW reveal when you see problems? (anything in black)
  11. id be interesed in the airtemp in and out when using the r34 smic @ 200rwkw has anyone done any testing to find out what the values are? id be interested for curiosity purposes. i think one of the bottlenecks could be ducting to the smic in the stock lcoation.
  12. you will need the corresponding boost kit loom to suit your car powerfc. the r33 gtst use the 3 pin kit, so you will need to buy this seperately. nengun.com has it. you really should reset it to defaults and get it tuned, it could be risky using someone else's tune, not too mention more work fixing the tune rather than starting again
  13. please keep the typical w***er comments to yourself guys. we will discuss this tonight at our commitee meeting and move forward on it. theres no point going on about it over and over. just keep it clean
  14. Hi, On behalf the SAU VIC committe we made several attempts to cross promote this event. It was posted in our recent newsletter, it was mentioned at two of our recent meetings, it was covered in our vic general events. The wekeend before was our drift for dummies training day @ deca so this may have impacted attendance a little, as a few were not keen on travelling to shepparton, the next weekend after (I was in this category). I also saw the contact between your self and the Commitee and replied to some of them also. I also tried to raise interest by asking questions coming up to the event in the main thread (which you saw). We (I) even went to the effort to try and ascertain number of attendances but my questions went un-answered. I even spoke to Libby (as no one else replied to my posts) to try and found out (but later realised she wasn't involved). I feel more interest could have been sparked by posting up event plans for the DECA events, numbers of cars officially booked in and other information indicating numbers. By looking at the main thread as an on-looker it looked like there wasn't much interest (lack of posting) so to most it appeared not many were going. Had someone posted up xyz amount of cars are confirmed, here is what we are doing at deca then it could have helped. I apologise on SAU's behalf for what you may feel we have done wrong, but I think as a club we did nothing wrong and promoted it quiet well and took reasonable efforts to spread the word.
  15. ive got exhaust side cam gear we gained zero and just wasted time in having it fitted and fiddled around with intake side may give 2kw not really worth the 400 odd to have it fitted and setup
  16. not needed, plently making that power without it
  17. because its probably tuned on 100ron jap fuel and is probably filthy rich on max load, youll wonder why your fuel economy sucks donkeys balls. either get an safc piggyback and tune it properly or get an aftermarket ecu
  18. the rb26 stockers have M24 on the compressor cover but the front a/r isn't 60. how laggy does it feel ?
  19. whats the air temperature before and after the 34 smic @ 10psi ?
  20. pointless, dont bother
  21. im so with ash 100%
  22. happy birthday, congrats
  23. powerfc FAQ tells you how to debug what is causing the engine check light to come on and how to adjust it. see my sig http://members.dodo.com.au/paul/docs/power...powerfc-faq.htm
  24. from my knowledge of the rule its ok as the pods would be considered 1 intake mod. if you were to change the intercooler that would count as two intake modifications. best to ask vic roads as a lot of their rules are full of grey areas and exceptions
