  1. My Garmin OBD2 bluetooth dongle, that talks to my satnav for Trip computer info, additional gauges, fuel consumption logging and error codes etc... Did not work at all on my NM35, and actually gave the sat nav a minor heart attack.. On my wifes XC90, fired up first time worked perfectly. Also worked without any issues on my KV36, as by now most Nissan have standardised to the global set up. As Nathan has said only one that will work on M/V35 Nissans is the HKS OBD or a Consult III. And back on topic; The install looks great and I am sure that the funcionallity is awsome.. Many years ago I had a 7" Android tablet on a windscreen suction mount and it worked really well for nav and phone (it had a voice/data sim). In the end it was too much faff and was too big to be safe for the mount I had and went I to Garmin and sun visor Bluetooth, but it was great at the time.
  2. I really hate the way that tray utes seem to be able to do this and extend the rear tray way beyond the rear bumber... At the least the body builders should have to extend the rear bumper so it is in line with the end of the tray... I know that this is the law in EU... from a rear crash safety point of view it is scary to think that the tray is already half way up your bonnet before your front bumper hits their rear bumper...
  3. I have this VDO unit; http://www.autostrada.com.au/nissan-cruise-controls.html Which I bought from a different supplier, as autostrada were not doing the V36 units at the time.. But they do sell them on eBay now... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Cruise-Control-Kit-Nissan-Skyline-V36-3-7-V6-2006-ON-With-D-Shaped-control-swit-/321583055906?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4adfd80422 Well worth the money and a straightforward installation with good instructons attached for interest... 4. Okay, no problems I'll drop it... Just find it weird that speed sensor for audio would be on the NM35/Series 1 V35 but then removed for the PM35/Series2 V35... Those Nissan engineers.... Crazy guys...
  5. My V36 is 2009 MY and was a global car for Nissan as the G37, hence why it was straight forward to get a cruise control arranged using the normal OBD wires. I also have a bluetooth dongle connected to the port, which works with my Gamin sat nav to give trip computer functionallity, additional gauges and diagnostics. It is that conventional.. This unit would not work on my NM35. Pretty certain that the PM35s do not run the conventional ODB2 protocols, so unlikely you will find a digital cruise that will get the signals though the OBD2 port working correctly on your car. Did you look at that extract I uploaded for you? The G35 series 2 also run a 3 plug audio like your PM so it might be the same with the speed sensor wire. I think that speed output is part of the ISO standard wiring for the speed sensitive volume feature.
  6. Hi Frank, Yes that was exactly what I did.. Tapped into the tramsission ECU for the speed, 2 connections to the brake pedal then the power. Also used the supplied stalk controller as I had a Momo steering wheel, which does not work with the OEM switches. Installation on the V36 was even easier for the cruise, but getting the controls connected though the steering clockspring was a nightmare!!
  7. I did try this and it did not work... Was a good quality SD card, but no so sure about the CF converter... SD card is now in my Nikon, and a Chinese 16 Gb CF card from the bay is doing good service in the car...
  8. That will be the next one.... Wife loves her XC90, that's how I got away with a silver/grey M35 AR-X...
  9. Hi Frank. The extract from the US manual does only show 3 plugs going into the audio unit... Page AV-10 plug M39, the biggest of the 3.. This also shows that the data output from the LAN-CAN needs to be converted before it can be read. This is shown on the diagram as the Unififed Meter Control Unit. As my V36 uses the normal OBD2 protocols, unlike my M35, I was able to use a generic cruise that is able to read the speed and brake light switch through the LAN-CAN system.. so only taping into 2 wires there. Nick
  10. Or a Volvo XC90... 5 cylinder slung sideways between the front wheels aint great... Especially when there is room for an in-line 6....
  11. Hey Cam, must be nearly time to try a J50.......
  12. Yes, not the engine ECU, the Tranmission ECU... http://m35stagea.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=282#p2439
  13. Have you thought about tapping in the speed sensor wire for the audio unit? That would be present in the loom from the CANBUS in case there was an audio that needed it. This was one of Leon's options for installing the Cruise in the NM35, but I know for my installation, I actutally used the feed from the ECU. On my V36 Skyline, I only needed to tap into the OBD2 connector and that gave the Cruise brain, the speed and brake pedal signals.. I have attached an extract from the 2005 G35 audio service manual that gives some wiring info. Hope it helps. av partial.pdf
  14. well done!!! and Massive Big Hand for getting it done in a UK single garage in I guess very low temperatures...
  15. Excellent so with 3 year Nissan Warranty!! Yes no need in NZ to be dealing with some personal importer when there are so many "proper" importers with showrooms and staff..
  16. Has the Infiniti logo on the clock so that all looks correct as AUS new G37/Q60 based. So I guess the AUS spec dash cluster would give all the dashboard messages in English as well? Hope you can get it all installed without too many hassles.. Fingers crossed for you mate..
  17. hmm towbar... 4 owners in 8 years and taken in trade in on something not an import... Given how cheap this car is, are there really no similar vehicles based in Adelaide?
  18. Hi Nathan, the kit was in Nissan bags from some Queenland dealer, who I assume was happy to import parts for the importer I bought the car from (Northshore Prestige in Sydney) and I am pretty certain that the M35 conversion was mainly a longer adjustable section (the screwed rod section that joins the rack). It was about 6-7 years ago now, so I am a little vague on it... Sorry I cannot be more precise..
  19. So was this some approved used Nissan import vehicle? Like the Toyota Signature? I had been lead to belive that these were all tip top vehicles. Excellent work on hanging out fro the V36 as well... any pics?
  20. Interestingly enough, when I first got my M35, I had a leaky tie rod end, so the imported ended up having to send me a new one so I could get my VIC roadworthy. It arrived from Queensland as a 350Z tie rod end, with an M35 "conversion kit" which appeared to be a lengthener... Might be worth checking to see if the normal 350Z ones, are the same, but shorter...
  21. Mikhail, are you sure that it isn't 2009/12, December 2009? Pretty certain that this would make it the face lift, with the fog lights in the lower bumper, hi-res screen and USB in the armrest... Looks good on paper...
  22. Agreed... Most likely the service manager or the DP has taken 1 look at your Skyline and gone get that out of here... They would absolutely be able to do the work, as it is mechanical, and charge you an arm and a leg, but it is not something their head office would be too happy about...
  23. Would be worth checking to see if the 370Z parts are the same...
  24. I think that is the generic build date, my car is 000186 so was in first batch of KV36 and is December 2008 production, given the number of the car you are looking at, I would say it is 2009 production but would still be 2009 Model Year same as mine. 2010 Model Year (so from around November December 2009 build date) gets the new interior and foglights in the bumper etc...
  25. and front underbrace.... This is one of the main area's that Nissan redesigned and reinforced between the V35/Z33 compared to V36/Z34.. And cheap as chips..
